In this film, Harjinder explains what dementia is, its causes and symptoms, and how its diagnosed.
We know that those from the Punjabi community face culturally specific barriers when it comes to dementia diagnosis. These include difficulties with language and communication, stigma, taboo and low awareness of dementia, and cultural perceptions around caregiving, health, and dementia itself.
This film has been created as an informative resource to help raise awareness of dementia and address some of these culturally specific barriers.
