I used your techniques. I got 8.0 in speaking. Sat for the Academic test 2 weeks ago.
PART 1: Where are you from? How far is it from here? ....and then....Do you think writing a dictionary is interesting? (Lol) Do you own a dictionary?
PART 2: Give a lesson you have learned not in school.
    You should state:
    - what the lesson was
    -who gave you the lesson
-how easy/difficult to learn the lesson
I gave 3 examples. I did not use the PPF. It worked! I spoke for 2 full minutes.
PART 3: Do you like travelling long distance? Do you think you would still travel in the future?...What age should children go to school?...When do adults learn something?...What lessons should adults learn?

Hi Jay, I wish to express my gratitude towards you. I came across your video on speaking tips and specially liked the PPF model of answering the speaking test. Although, the need to use PPF did not arise as the topic I received was something I could speak for a couple of hours, but the PPF did help in getting more confident for the test. Thanks for your tips. Just FYI, I recevied my test results today for the IELTS general exam in New Delhi on 2 Dec 2017 and happy to share that I scored an overall Band 8 in 1st attempt (L - 8.5, R - 8, S - 8.5 and W - 7). Excellent stuff from you and some other online trainers on youtube. Keep it going and help many others.

So I had my first IELTS test yesterday. I do not know the results yet but I focused on Jay's tips and it actually went far better than I thought. I did the writing test exactly following Jay's instructions. And the speaking actually went pretty well although I had been pretty nervous prior to entering the room! I was all dressed up, with the nicest shirt I have, unlike some other people who wore trousers and dirty snickers, so I guess this had a certain impact as well. Questions: tell me about your primary school, and for Part 2 Speaking test ''when was the last time you used public transport''. So I said ''in the past, when I've lived in ... I have been using a bus bla bla... Recently, I have been using trains because I've been travelling... and then I invented a story about losing a train ticket and embarrassing myself in front of other travellers but then I realised that I had put (Past Perfect!! Hehe) the ticket in the other pocket which was hilarious and he even laughed! I didn't even notice the transfer from Part 2 into Part 3! It turned out to be one funny and pleasant conversation. THANKS JAY!!

Hi Jay, Cant thank you enough. My working schedules are such that I didnt have any time to prepare for it. My preparations really started 1 day before the speaking test and the only thing i did was watch this RUclips Playlist while driving on my way to the office and back home , not more than 2 hrs.... For task 2 i was given a really out of the box topic (if you can send me your email , i'll share the topic - you really should make a model video on that) but thanks to your PPF , i did somehow manage to talk for 90 sec.
The same preparation routine followed for 3 days till the Main exam. And here I messed up in Writing, couldnt finish my Task 1 essay in time. Today my results were out - 8 band overall , 8.5 speaking and 7.5 in writing. Seriously, had it not been for your videos, i am sure i wasnt crossing 6.
    Thanks a lot.

Hi Jay. My name is Ehsan, an Indian, working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for a Science Center. I had been watching your videos on youtube before giving my IELTS exam - General Training. Tried to imbibe from your expertise and follow your instructions. Alhamdulillah, to my surprise, I got an overall band score of 7.5 (with 6.5 in speaking, 7 in writing, 7.5 in reading, and 8 in listening). Thank you very much. In shaa ALLAH, plan to improve on the scores, especially my weaker aspect, the listening, maybe after a few more months. I'm in the process of applying for Immigration to Canada.

Past: When I came to visit Singapore there was this one law that caught my attention. It says something about prohibiting littering and spitting on street. It was just so nice to see how this law made Singapore one of the cleanest city in the world. I witnessed how people follow the rule and nobody wants to break it. I think this law is important in maintaining a healthy enviroment and also in preventing mosquito from breeding in dirty places.
Present: Recently, when my brother and I have this wonderful trip at the seaside in Ilocos region. One police officer caught out attention. He asked my brother to park on one side of the road and fined us for $30 because I didn't use the seatbelt. I know it was my fault then because it is a safety feature of every cars during travel. After this incident i was very vigilant to use the seatbelt every now and then.
Future: In the future, I looking forward to improve the law on traffic roads especially here in the philippines. Traffic enforcers should be more strict in catching those motorist who dont abide to traffic laws such as on traffic lights. I notice some motorist who dont stop when green lights is on. This is a dangerous move especially for those who are crossing the street not looking around. There should be a definite fine for those motorist who breaks these law, to remind them to be cautious on their actions.

Hey Jay. I have been going through your videos to learn and understand IELTS test modules. Let me tell you, you out-stand all the other trainers on RUclips. Be it Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking, the structure you provide for all these has not only improved my way of demonstration, but has also thought me how to leave a positive effects on the reader. First time I appeared for IELTS speaking and I scored 7 following your footsteps. Now I am reappearing, all geared up for 5th Dec, 2018 for my upcoming speaking test. I am an Indian not a "Native English speaker". But I follow you religiously and depend on you for my tests and this time I am heading towards scoring at least 8 in speaking if I won't be lucky enough to score 9. Thanks for all your help. Cheers Mate!

    Which law it is?
    - Newton’s First Law
    Why people follow it?
    - We have to. Nobody can just unfollow it like unfollowing a Facebook page.
    Whether people break it?
    - We always want to break it when a car crash is about to happen.

man I really regret that I hadn't seen your videos prior to my failed IELTS speaking I scored only 6 on speaking, in part 2 i didn't speak very well I just used only simple grammatic sentences without any although, while, in other words... I just described the inside of the library which I find it easy to study and only a couple of high-level words. what's more, i was absolutely hesitated with hmm mm mm etc. what's Jay saying is I guess correct because your mind will blow when you sit in front of the examiner, here is a tip for you, be just laid-back person who doesn't care anything. and without practicing i swear you can't do anything else to increase your score.

    Reading: 7.5
    Listening: 8.5
    Writing: 7.0
    Speaking: 7.5
    Overall: band 7.5
    I just needed a band 6

Thank you so much I started watching your videos 2days ago and my speaking exam was today. I used the ppf method and really worked, I had words and stories to tell although I was anxious and worried that I wont be able to talk for two minutes but the ppf really helped. Thanks again.

Hello Jay. Firstly Thank you for all the amazing videos and tips for free :). This information is really helpful. I`ve practiced several of the part 2 tests and realized the 3 story structure works swell. However in this particular example of "Law" I was stalled because this topic was completely off radar for me. I actually couldn't think of fake stories even(cz I am really bad at coming up with made up stories), is there any suggestion you can extend on such cases? of how we can we iterate a story of absolute zero knowledge or experience?

    Hi Jay,
I appeared for the IELTS Speaking test today. It went really well. I used your PPF technique in Part 2, and it gave me an opportunity to speak for full 2 minutes. The question I received was:
Tell us about an item of clothing you love wearing.
I have a doubt in this question. Can we talk about casuals and formals on this topic in a broader term? Will I lose marks if I don't name the item of clothing I love wearing?

Hey Jay. I'm not a native speaker so taking ielts was stressful for me until I saw ur videos. They helped me a lot so thanks! I only had 7 days to prepare and ur videos helped me passed. So thanks thanks thanks.
😁 My overall score is band 8. For reading and listening, I got 8.5 each. Writing is 7. 😅 Ran out of time. And I got 8 for my speaking. Really pleased with the results. I could've done better with my writing but considering I was a nervous wreck the day of my exams, I'm happy with it. Xoxo. 😊😘😁

@@mixmixhalohalo i am glad you replied. i am confused because some of the local teachers say that when it is about describing only one thing, this method makes us to say about 2 things. they say that this will not be good. But I am sure that this is right because speaking is judged only by 4 criteria in which there is nothing staying on one story

    • @mixmixhalohalo
      @mixmixhalohalo 4 года назад +1

I am not an expert by any means and I only can go by about my experience but it worked for me as I scored 8 in speaking. I didnt stammer much and I was able to talk for 2 minutes straight. So it obviously worked. But as I said, practice with any technique and whatever u can get a good grip with, use it.

Thanks Jay...My ielts speaking (In India) went well. A foreigner (British I guess) interviewed me. Cue card topic was - Discuss something you planned to do in your future, not related to work or studies. And general topics included importance of planning in daily life, various questions on music. I did forgot PPP concept ...its so stupid..I had been listening to your videos a night before !! However, managed it somehow.
