Hi Kathi, another great review, as always. Thank you! I had not heard of this series but I am open to try it. There are so many books I want to read… thank you for the video ❤
Just wanted to drop in and say that you're really cool! I like your whole vibe and I hope that you have a wonderful night or day! I've never heard of this series, but I really wanna read it and get my friends in it, too! :D
Kate Elliot has been on my radar for absolutely forever, so long in fact that I feel a little bit bad for having not picked any of her books up before now. 2025 is the year I think, would you recommend starting with this trilogy or maybe her Crown of stars series? I generally prefer longer series so I'm leaning towards the latter.
I liked it quite a lot when I read it a number of years ago but I was a bit disappointed, too. I loved her Jaran books and this series was paced a lot slower. It's not like nothing happen, in fact, a lot of things happen during the series, but it feels like everything is revealed too slowly. I think it's because of how it's told but I may be wrong. Black Wolves was supposed to be the first in a trilogy set in the same world but the contract was terminated for some reason and only the first book came out, only in the UK.
@@NerdyKathi Also, these books are supposedly set on the SF world depicted in the Jaran books. The author's problem was that people didn't want SF anymore and she converted the stories into fantasy because of that.
Oooooh! I've never heard of Kate Elliott. And I love dragons! Eagles sound fun, too. Thank you for sharing the series with us!!
I really sharing more obscure books or authors with others. I hope you do try the series.
Adding this to my list! Another captivating review Kathi.
Thank you very much. I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you very much. I hope you enjoy the series.
I read this trilogy in 2009 and loved it!
It's so overlooked.
I have the 1st of the Crown of Stars, but I've seen the Crossroads series at the book store multiple times, I'll pick it up next time
They are both worth reading. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Hmm that is a good question. Personally I like both and tend to prefer to start with an author’s earlier works to see how they evolve as an author.

It is definitely slow paced and could have been shortened. I didn’t know there was another book. I’ll have to find it now. Thank you!
