Thom Browne Fall-Winter 2024-25 NYFW. Featuring 01:57 Anna Cleveland, 03:12 Kristen McMenamy & 14:03 Sara Grace Wallerstedt. Thom Browne made a triumphant return to New York Fashion Week. Inspired by Edgar Allen Poe's poem "The Raven", Browne transformed the runway into a snowy yard adorned with a tree cloaked in a giant Thom Browne puffer coat. The scene was reminiscent of a melancholic narrative, where a raven delivers a haunting refrain of "nevermore" to the protagonist.

The collection was almost entirely tossed in black, white and gray, which continues the American designer’s commitment to monochromatic themes. It was a parade of macabre elegance, featuring a raven cloaked in a stole made from shredded tuxedo pieces. The collection itself was a visual interpretation of Poe's masterpiece, with garments adorned with motifs of ravens and phrases from the poem. White moiré coats featured intarsia'd black birds, while boxy jackets were emblazoned with the raven's ominous catchphrase. Models donned net headpieces resembling the profile of the bird, their nails painted black. Browne's interpretation of Poe's work took imaginative liberties, incorporating elements of insect anatomy and references to Kafka's "Metamorphosis." The inclusion of roses in the collection further deepened the poetic narrative, drawing on the mysterious tradition of the Poe Toaster who paid homage to the author annually by leaving three roses at his grave.

His designs are recognized by museums around the world including the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the Costume Museum at Bath and the Mode Museum Antwerpen.
