This in insane. I’m also 15 years old, and I was given a 1988 900 Turbo SPG by my dad. He was the original owner, and I’ve loved this thing for as long as I can remember, and I’m slowly restoring it back to a condition that would make the original Saab engineers proud. I look forward following your journey, as we both restore our SPGs. Definitely subscribing!
It's great to see a young guy try his hand at restoring an old car! I worked at the SAAB factory at the time your car was built and maybe i installed some of the parts on it. I have also owned and maintained quite a few og 900:s. It's a great car and i'm sure you will get a lot of joy out of both restoring and driving it!
Being a sophomore in high school with this car will definitely present challenges along the road, but i’m for the experiences as much as the car, working on a new video coming soon!
I’m a bit older than you (56), but I have been on a 10 year journey to slowly restore my 1991 SPG barn find. I’m sure yours will go more quickly as I store the car at my parent’s, 3000 miles from where I live.
welcome to the world of saab and YT buddy! The more of us there are, the better! Thanks for saving this rare car! I love the awkward moments when the camera starts recording and you blink your eyes lmao
Very excited that you're looking forward to more content, and congratulations for winning this episodes game! I'll explain more in-depth what they are in the next video!
Gearbox bearings - replace them. No7 primaries - try to find some. Brakes from the 9000 with some racing branded discs - needed. Brembo are fine. SAAB APC mods, the APC mods take you to 350bhp with some extra cooling, bigger pipes and fuel regulator. Things I wish I knew from day 1.
Thank you so much for the recommendations and tips, we were already ahead in keeping a list of potential parts that we would need to get even before we even got the car, there was open consideration as a lot could go wrong!
It's really cool to see younger people with appreciation for these cars, I can't wait to see the results! Great job!
Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to this project, it really is a unique opportunity!
I'm 30 now and it always warms my heart when I see teens like you appreciating these older cars
@@japython means a lot! watching my dad restore his SAAB really got me into cars in general and across just about 6 years, i’ve been hooked
Super nice to see young people saving old Saabs following the progress, Greeting from Sweden.

You’re getting into SAABs at the right age, there’s a lot fo good and free information out here for you. Consider me subscribed!
Thank you! I need all the encouragement I can get. Hoping my videos improve with time.

Absolutely will! Thanks for being a part of what makes these cars great.
Keep up the hard work !! I love seeing other like minded people keeping these classic Saabs on the road !!
This car has SO MUCH potential and I'm so thrilled to see more young saab people!
This is awesome. I had my first SPG back in high school. Decade later and I'm still driving Classic 900s every day. This is a super example of an SPG.

Prayers for a satisfying restoration! After all, if we don’t do it, who will?
Really great video & good luck! My dad will be watching over you ❤️
I’ll definitely need him with me. Truly someone i’ll never forget.

Thank you! There's a lot of work to be done, and it's just one step at a time. Hoping you stick around!
Nicely done. Following!
All the best for a worthwhile project
Much appreciated, and we hope the same for your future endeavors!
Looking forward to seeing your journey. Wonder if those bolts are for supporting the control arms.

Your gonna get big one day! Keep going!
Thanks so much man!
Awesome car to have man, cool!
The car has the right rims: Ronal turbo!
Great - keep up the good work! (from a fellow Saab owner - 06 9-5 Aero Estate)
Thanks, will do! And same to you!
I'm envy of your ronal turbo wheels. Pretty nice and pretty rare
They are! Although I'm more of a 3-Spoke man myself
The Super Aeros also look very good. But I don't know if there are any that fit because the old 900s still have the old bolt circle.@@BumpyRoadAhead
@@T1RACER correct, I remember seeing the super aeros as a replacement option for the ronals and landed at the regular 3-spokes after learning that
Opportunity❤
Better get Another Paper Route... to help pay for parts.
No kidding there!
Those wheels?
🤍
Hello can you repair Germany cars
Sorry, but right now I'm just focused on SAABs at the moment, hopefully sometime in the future I will be able to branch out though!
reenforce (behaviorally speaking)
Are you sure it’s not for yer Dad!!!
No its definitely not. His dad has a slightly well known sedan and a couple of SPG’s of his own.
