As someone who's first MH game was Rise....I have over 250 hours clocked in and I just can't stop playing lol. Capcom's most recent update with the new monsters and implementation of layered armor sets is now consuming even more of my time than before. This is easily going to be one of those rare games that I already know I'm going to put several thousand hours into, If not more. I'm hooked.
Arlo: I have no time to play games I'm FAR too busy to play games nowadays!! Also Arlo: I've spent over 100 hours within a couple of weeks. Which is it dude.
As a busy guy myself with a day job, 100 hours for a game that came out 3 weeks ago is pretty alright. Thats around 3 hours per day enough short game sessions on work breaks or before bed. c:
Exactly what I was thinking ... Im like... Arlo surely cant be THAT busy. His only job is making RUclips videos and if hes not doing that then what possibly else could he be so busy with?
This is basically me when playing Fire Emblem 3 houses. Every single session takes me 5 or 6 hours then the reality starts to kick in that I need to go to work, buy food and do house stuff and need to do them all before I play again.
Somewhere, far far away, deep down in a forest, there was a faint yet oh so audible voice whispering in a soothing yet inescapable tone: ... "One of us. One of us. One of us."
I love to see new hunters become so addicted to the series! Reminds me of when I played my first Monster Hunter game (MH4U). It's just so addicting and the combat never gets old. The perfect knockout slam to a monster's head is just as satisfying the next 100 times. Keep enjoying your first MH Arlo :)
This was exactly me when I first played FE3H, and when I played it for the second time, and the third. Sometimes there are just games you never want to put down, and I can't tell whether it's a blessing or a curse
I totally get this. I just finished my first playthrough of FE3H two weeks ago. I've tried several games since and all they do is make me miss FE3H more so I've decided I'm just going to do another playthrough of 3H instead.
It's like you used your little blue monster hands to reach inside my brain. I relate so much to everything you are feeling, right down to Stardew Valley.
I'm In the same boat. I've slowed down a bit, but I've already got 200 hours in Rise. It's legit one of the best games I've ever played. It has insanely fun combat, amazing monster designs, great art direction, and a super deep equipment system that allows you to tinker endlessly. I've made builds for 7 of the weapon types so far. That's honestly the key to so many hours played. Trying out new weapon types is like trying different fighters in a fighting game, except they're even more unique. I can't necessarily recommend this game to anyone, but if you love videogames and want a new one to really sink your teeth into, it's a must play.
@@ArgenteonYT Lol, sharpness bar permanently orange and red, max stamina depleted shorter than the sharpness bar, no wirefall recoveries... it's painful to watch 😵
I just rewatched this video since watching it when it first came out. It’s august now and I’m still obsessed with mh rise. I’ve put almost 200 hours in at this point and that’s an INSANE amount for me. Usually for games that aren’t online shooters I average about 30-50 hours before I feel that I’ve gotten what I want out of the game. But this one is so different. I can’t get enough of it and I’ve started playing older titles on my 3ds while I wait for new content to drop. This may be my all time favorite franchise now
-Don't ride monsters far away in multiplayer if you just want to smack them into walls. Just do it nearby so other hunters don't have to chase the monster cause you liked the wall 100 meters away more. -Use demon mode on dual blades, at least until the bar is filled -Sharpen regularly, you should try to never be on yellow sharpness (early game you should never go below yellow) -For weapons like Dual Blades, that need a lot of Stamina, take Meat with you to replenish your Stamina And NEVER let 6:05 THIS happen -Place bombs to wake up on 1 pile, they can be stacked into one another 7:35 NOT like this. It's important that it's one huge attack to wake the monster up, cause of bonus wake-up-damage. The perfect trigger for those bombs is either a charged lvl 3 Greatsword attack or the silkbug hammer attack These are the things I noticed from skipping through this video... Glad you like the game!
Video game addiction is no joke, it took over my life for 10 years, I have no social skills, I have extreme Socel anxiety and panic attacks when I'm in public. I have no idea how to quit videogames, it's probably going to kill me one day.
Just remember people are usually more concerned with how they are coming across than how good your social skills are because everyone is the center of their own universe and we're all the same brother.

its ok bud, updates will make the game bigger and bigger so when you give it a shot there will be massive stuff to do, you better get ready for that lol
I feel you completely on this. I really want to play, but I can’t afford to get totally hooked on anything right now.
Trust me Arlo, I’ve been hooked since 2009. Once it latches on, it never lets go
This video captures perfectly how I felt when my friends talked my into playing World. Glad to have you as one of us
As someone who's first MH game was Rise....I have over 250 hours clocked in and I just can't stop playing lol. Capcom's most recent update with the new monsters and implementation of layered armor sets is now consuming even more of my time than before. This is easily going to be one of those rare games that I already know I'm going to put several thousand hours into, If not more. I'm hooked.
After the next update, HR gets uncapped so you won’t stop at HR7. You can keep going up to 999
"So much I want to do... So much I NEED to do..."
-Hunter's Lament
When I saw the image I genuinely had a wild moment where I thought it meant Alro couldn’t stop playing the Hotel Transylvania Pokémon ripoff
@dirtgas4998 oops! Autocorrect seems to believe that Pikmin isn’t a thing
@@benmerkin3202 screw autocorrect
@@benman92 ups can say that again
@@benmerkin3202 screw autocorrect
how did autocorrect put "pikmin" into hotel transylvania
It's so genuinely amusing watching someone first fall into this trap when you've been stuck in this series for like ten years.
Ladys and gentleman we got him
Wellcome to the hunter life arlo ...
Now you can never go back
This is the best articulation of getting hooked on Monster Hunter I’ve ever watched. Love the enthusiasm. Welcome to the hunt!!!!
510 hours into 3H and I couldn't agree more
Once it clicks, it just clicks.
Arlo better be ready for G-rank, that's the true test.
Someone really named their character "Smackie Chan" XDDD
Monster hunter has been my favorite game series since was a kid playing Freedom unite and now that everyone gets it is so heartwarming
Do you still feel the urge to claw with your left hand?
@@SoukaDeezNutz Oh no I just delt with terrible camera. Hitboxes meant you would be hit at camp so it actually didn't change it much.
“When I saw that number, the gravity of the situation hit me” Arlo... you not only crack me up but are the most relatable monster who ever was.
Welcome, make yourself comfortable. You're never gonna leave.
Monster hunter just has one hell of a game loop. Every part of it is so satisfying
Somewhere, far far away, deep down in a forest, there was a faint yet oh so audible voice whispering in a soothing yet inescapable tone:
...
"One of us. One of us.
5:07 "I want to play this game forever, this is my life"
When I had this feeling the last time, the game lasted about ten to fifteen hours :(
Arlo you convinced me to pick it up. And I’ve put in 10 hours and I’m SO excited for a full review.
as soon as I read the title i immediately thought of Monster Hunter
i would like to thank capcom for making this masterpiece and saving my miserable life during this pandemic, truly a life saver.
Having been in MH's Thrall since freedom unite, this feeling is unique and great. Welcome to the hunters guild Arlo!
The fact that you are a hunting horn player... that is a blessing
It’s his editor’s footage in the video. You can see the editor’s name in the top of the screen
"I've played over 100 hours, and I feel like it's only beginning."
You sir, you get it.
Welcome to the guild, Hunter!
We're glad to have you, Arlo. May your whetstone never run out.
I love that Arlo’s tech nerd persona combs over his little hairs
I love how it's Yoshilers footage in the background and not Arlo's haha
Agreed 🤣
Its always like this, footage is the editor's job
and boy it sure is footage
feels like it's his first MH
don't worry buddy, you'll make it someday

Lol, sharpness bar permanently orange and red, max stamina depleted shorter than the sharpness bar, no wirefall recoveries... it's painful to watch 😵
This may be my all time favorite franchise now
Welcome to the monster hunter guild, Arlo.
Welcome to the rest of your life.
-Don't ride monsters far away in multiplayer if you just want to smack them into walls. Just do it nearby so other hunters don't have to chase the monster cause you liked the wall 100 meters away more.
-Use demon mode on dual blades, at least until the bar is filled
-Sharpen regularly, you should try to never be on yellow sharpness (early game you should never go below yellow)
-For weapons like Dual Blades, that need a lot of Stamina, take Meat with you to replenish your Stamina
And NEVER let 6:05 THIS happen
-Place bombs to wake up on 1 pile, they can be stacked into one another 7:35 NOT like this. It's important that it's one huge attack to wake the monster up, cause of bonus wake-up-damage. The perfect trigger for those bombs is either a charged lvl 3 Greatsword attack or the silkbug hammer attack
These are the things I noticed from skipping through this video...
Glad you like the game!
haha you have fallen into the hole that is monster hunter
*have fallen
Oh Monster Hunter, I have a few of those
Video game addiction is no joke, it took over my life for 10 years, I have no social skills, I have extreme Socel anxiety and panic attacks when I'm in public.
I have no idea how to quit videogames, it's probably going to kill me one day.
Just remember people are usually more concerned with how they are coming across than how good your social skills are because everyone is the center of their own universe and we're all the same brother.
Arlo, the only person who doesn’t realize they can become a Vtuber.
Please no
God no. I'm tired of the shitty mouth syncing and constant bobbing. Some people have hand-designed their avatars to match their movements wonderfully but 99% are just really annoying to look at. >.>
He already is. He’s a dang hand puppet, lmao
Fuck no I hate vtubers I’m tired of the weird models and uncanny valley
Also the weird objectification of human beings like those anime waifus are like real people behind the vtube thing that have Feelings and emotions but people still ship them and treat them like fictional characters it’s weird anime shit arlo doesn’t need that
Vtubers are just puppets manipulated by software instead of hands.
This is my first ever monster hunter game and I'm absolutely loving it I can't stop playing or thinking about it. I got it Friday and it's Monday and even though I moved and was unpacking this weekend I still managed to put 42 hours into the game.
You finally reviewed a Monster Hunter Game.
And as a massive fan of Monster Hunter, this makes me EXTREMELY happy.
Enjoy it, IMO no other MH game ever beats the first one you fall in love with.
3 Arlo videos since Tuesday. Am I dreaming?
You basically voiced my inner monologue with this video, Arlo. I’ve only dabbled with MH Tri in the past but Rise has got me so hooked I can’t stop playing (in between work, sleeping and toddler duties). It’s so slick and fun to play with all the QoL additions.
Dear Arlo. I've been playing MH since the Ps2, and I've seen your symptoms many times before. They are a clear sign of a dedicated hunter. Welcome to the MH obsession.
100 hours?!?! We gotta pump those numbers up! Those are rookie numbers!
Welcome Arlo, we accept our new hunter with open arms
Zane the hacker and Raycon Arlo teaming up would be the greatest crossover of all time.
Arlo should be in the Sonic Movie with that typing speed.
The Sonic movie but replace Sonic with a preteen Arlo 😁
I've been in this hole since tri. Welcome to monster hunter, Arlo. You'll never leave.
omg, that 100 hours is impressive. even I only have 70 hours at the game atm and I am a longtime monster hunter fan since MH tri on the wii! welcome to the franchise!
Hell yeah I got my start at Tri as well! It's so cool seeing the series explode along with all the changes in gameplay from then to now
Part of me was hoping the add at the start was going to be a surprise fakeout and jump into the hacker suddenly talking about the ear buds instead lol.
Welcome to the hunt. I felt this addiction for the first time with World/Iceborne. I still prefer that game, but I'm loving Rise too.
World did this to me 3 years ago. Now i've just accepted it as part of my life lol
MH is like a snowball. It starts small and boring, but once you get past all the tutorials, learn the basics, and click with a weapon (which to be fair is a lot), there go 185 hours of your life and you're still rolling.
Welcome to the club, Arlo! Now say goodbye to your life, those monsters won't hunt themselves ya know
It warms my heart to see someone enjoying the series. I started the series with the first game on release, and have played every game since, so I'll be the one to say it, welcome to endless loop of fun that is monster hunter, glad you're enjoying it!
