Old and achilles injury don’t go well together.
I am very happy she decided to with draw from competition for this season. All through her career, she has been plague with injuries. The data will prove the facts; even when she did the first double, she was injured. She is tough, resilient and persevering. No other athlete has done this well with the ever-present injuries she has endured. 'right decision'

Sad very sad. She's has that natural talent that could have easily ran through the 100m and 200m record. Her injuries prevented her from shining as the best female sprinter.
If she doesn't retire which I think she should then she better come back with fire and desire next year.
Hope she get better and back soon but since the Francis exit she haven't done well

I doubt anyone really expected Elaine to really qualify anyway from how she performed just two weeks ago. It was just too much to ask, the injury looked to serious to make such a rapid recovery in such a short time.
This lady has already won at the Olympics. Her Dreams ain't dashed. She already fulfilled her dream in the past of winning an olympic gold medal not once but multiple times. This can't be a dream of something she already accomplished. I could see if she had never won an Olympic gold medal. This Lady is Legend and she has nothing to hang her head about nor should the commentary be directed at the decisions she made to change coaches. Coaches don't run for athletes. She has been doing this stuff long enough to know how to train, prepare, and get herself ready but Track is a very grueling sport and injuries do occur. I think the grind of the sport catches up with you over time. At the end of the day, she is human not a machine like some ungrateful people think. She won the following at the Olympics: 💯

That kind of heartbreaking news is like a gut punch to her countless fans around the world. It leaves a feeling of emptiness and the frustration of always wondering what might have been. But in the end all that matters is that she puts herself first and does whatever it takes to properly heal. Hopefully she can come bouncing back in 2025.

Shaneiki Osbourne knows ETH from long ago and is familiar with her makeup and what it takes to keep her healthy ETH is like a Ferrari. Poor Walcott had no time to work out a customised protocol and Dr Magic Hands is irrelevant here. He is really just good for acute treatment. ETH needs chronic maintenance in the way she trains and physical therapy. The Achilles is NEVER going away and just needs to be managed. At this point I think she should go back to SO and negotiate a reasonable (to both sides) remuneration package. She got ETH to 10.79s last year in a matter of weeks. If it aint broke...
Nobody is dunking on ETH, her wins are good for all Jamaica. However, we cant stand by and let bad advice ruin her career while we stay quiet.
