Hi Olivio, I have just found Affinity and got rid of Adobe as I feel they are greedy with their subscriptions. I was a little apprehensive as it’s a new program to learn after 15 odd years with photoshop but now I have found you. Your videos are brilliant and I’m binge watching them at the moment and I’m learning so much. You have got the balance of speed and explanation just right. Thank you so much and please keep them coming, I’m sure they are helping so many of us. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
A very informative tutorial, a thumbs up from me. I feel that you may have missed a trick by not looking at the Curves Adjustment, in that you selected the mid point and adjusted the curve without reference to the histogram. If you look at the histogram you would see that very few of the tones are mid tones and that the bulk of the tones are between shadows and mid tones, that is where you would get the effective tone adjustment from.
@@OlivioSarikas Thanks. Maybe you can clear one mystery for me. I recently purchased affinity and made 5 adjustments in the photo persona. then I wanted to see the original image to see how it compares to my adjusted image, but I could not figure out how I could view the original. Can you help?
@@true2himself hi, if you look at the top of your work area, there are what looks like blue and grey "moons". click them to get different options to see the before and after of your adjustments. :)
@@OlivioSarikas Thanks for your reply. There are some white blue icons in the top right corner but they seem to be layer related. Here is a screenshot after my adjustments were done. Could not see these "moons" you were talking about. postimg.cc/1gbqqjg7

Hi! Thank you very much for this handy video. Can you tell what do I do when the Sky picture is much smaller than the photo you want to have the sky replaced with? You can crop the new photo but then you don't get the full sky inserted in the photo. Many thanks.
Hi Broughton, you mean when it has a lot smaller resolution? In that case you should use a different photo. There are some tricks to make a smaller image larger, but if it is a lot smaller you will loose a lot of quality when scaling it up. Check Unsplash.com for lots of free highres sky photos.
I meant that when you drag the photo into Affinity it’s physically much smaller which I suppose is smaller in resolution, i.e. KB or MB. I’ve tried to drag it on the sides and make it bigger that way but then the resolution is not good enough. Thanks for the reply, appreciate it.
@@moziahahmed1059 there is no automatic way to do that in affinity photo. you can do it by hand with curves, but in that case i would suggest you use affinity designer. also there are websites that will do it for you, for free or for a little fee. have a google search and test some of them to see if they have what you need

Just have Affinity. So learning as I go along. May I ask you how you had both images open in layers. The new image and the one you copied from.
You can place any other photo into a document by either dragging it into it or going "file -> place"
Hammer Video !!!
Danke dir. Freut mich sehr das es dir gefällt :)
Could you please tell me how did you place the second photo as a layer ?
Hi Daniel, to import a photo as a layer you go "File -> Place" in the menu and select the photo you want to import
I do it like you tell but the photo comes as a image in the layer . In yours it is a pixel layer
Can you save the graduated adjustments out as a backup so you don't lose it if Affinity crashes/updates/transfer to a new machine?
Hi Tony, you can save gradients as swatches and export them :)
