    hideko takamine also said that she worked with naruse for many years but he never said remarked like you did good and you did bad in that part. he was a very quiet man as tatsuya have said

    Tatsuya Nakadai was the weak link in the movie. He tried so hard to portray a film noir type of Bogart character that he became a ridiculous caricature. If anyone needed direction, it was him.
