    Wonderful explanation. Reading all the dimensions in ASME B16.20 was very difficult to visualize. You have made it much simpler.
    Moreover, thank you for dismantling the SPW gasket. Helped to better understand it's construction.

    Amazing.You have explained this video very well with clear explanations which I have never seen before in any site. please make more videos about gasket. Some time purchased spiral wound gasket without inner ring. But the connect line is requirements of FBE inner coatings In cases if we are using gasket without inner ring . The fluid service exposed to flange. I hope there are two solution either flange surface should be FBE or should be purchased spiral gasket with inner ring. However we need your advice about this issue.

      As per ASME B16.20, Inner rings are required for the below conditions:
      i) When PTFE is used as a filler material
      ii) Based on size and rating combinations (in general above 600#)
      iii) Recommended for Vacuum service

    hello Sir
    can we use spiral would gasket in flat face flanges as well?

    • @gourisankarsamanta7670
      @gourisankarsamanta7670  Год назад +1

      No, we should not use, because while tightening flange bolts, moment will be generated in flat face flange and it may crack because in most of the cases flat face flanges are of cast iron which is brittle.

      @@gourisankarsamanta7670 thanks for your reply!! My flange is gun metal flat face Which is not brittle. I believe crack will not occur in gun metal flange however off course bending moment will be there.
      So I am in confusion whether should I use this gasket or not in flat face.
      I read somewhere on internet that we can use it in both flat face as well as in raised faces flanges.
      Please suggest your opinion.

      @@vikrambar Gun metal is soft and malleable having mainly Copper and Tin.
      Spiral wound gasket can be used for gun metal flat face flange.
