My 6 year old is bloody obsessed with SCP-3008. For his birthday we bought him a replica IKEA workers uniform, the whole shebang. He requests a family trip to IKEA once every month at least. He'll actually ask the workers if they know of any "strange happenings" occurring on their shift. It's so bizarre that you're now reacting to this. I just can't escape. Made all the more poignant with our family being Swedes who live in England. We can't evade heritage it seems.
Just be sure to take him to an IKEA that you actually trust, be safe.
He’s asking for sidequests
In regards to theclassification question at the start of the video, there is a relatively simple solution.
The box test: If you put it in a box and it stays in that box, it's Safe. If you put it in a box and have to keep checking that box, it's Euclid. If you put it in a box and it immediately escapes that box, it's Keter.
A button that immediately explodes the Solar System but can be contained by a simple glass lid is Safe, despite the danger it represents. An otherwise normal cat that randomly trades places with any other cat on the planet is Keter.
Don't forget there are three more
Archon: putting it in the box is ill advised
Thaumiel: it IS the box
Apollyon: the box is gone, the room is gone, everything is gone
@@aidanlafountain3206and then there’s
Neutralized: anomalous properties are either explained or gone, basically it’s not really an SCP anymore
Explained: I’m pretty sure this is a classification for older “SCPs” which through advancements in science were explained through normal means. So like fire used to be unknown but now is
Thank you for giving Volgun some love. I think he does the best SCP videos in the community.
He has a good number of absolutely incredible videos, I hope we see more of Volgun’s stuff here.
I hate how content farms take all the attention away from actually good channels like Volgun.
Ditto
The Volgun, The Exploring series and Mr illustrated are the holy Trinity of the best SCP videos.
He is the perfect SCP podcast. When you don’t have time to read or search through thousands of below average SCPs, he’s legit the GOAT.
1:04 No, Euclid means it is only slightly harder to contain, and it isn't very well understood.
Ikea is already massive, would get lost even if its not infinite lmao
Remember that it is a US Ikea, not European branch... which only openned its first store in the US in 1985. So max age for SCP-3008, if it had been store #1, would be 40 years old. More likely in the 30 year range, but with a near infinite space. This should have been taken over and turned into a shelter.
So, I know I'm real late to the party on this one, but here's a quick reference sheet on the SCP object classifications, since there was that brief mix-up with euclid at the start. I'll just list the most common types that you'll see videos of:
Safe: just means that it's easy to contain the anomaly. It could still be a deadly anomaly sometimes, but its containment procedures are so easy that it's negligible.
Euclid: This class takes more work and/or resources to contain, and could potentially break containment due to some levels of unpredictability. For example, this SCP - 3008 - is mostly able to be secured by setting up a perimeter and not allowing others inside the building, but that takes a decent number of resources, and aspects of it could create unforeseen gaps in containment.
Keter: this class is usually your truly dangerous SCP's. They're extremely difficult to contain, often have very complex containment procedures, and can *still* break containment and go on a killing spree. Sometimes containment for this isn't so much "containment" as "damage control."
And finally, Thaumiel: These are the anomalies that the Foundation either uses or works with actively to further their goals in containment. You saw 3000, the massive creepy eel they use for powerful amnestics. That's the easiest example of anomalies in this class.
TheVolgun's voicework adds so much to his SCP videos. They're all a joy to just kick back and listen to.
There is a kind of "Holy Trinity" of SCP (wiki-related) youtube channels:
The Volgun is for you if you want amazingly voice acted Readings.
Mr Illustrated is for you if you want Readings with pretty good voice acting and amazing Illustrations.
The Exploring Series is for you if you want something between a reading and a summary, while also being given some kind of explanation. Basically it's like a friend talking to you about the SCP in question instead of the more in-universe reading. I would recommend the Exploring Series for people new to the community, such as yourself, as a lot of SCPs also have some kind of cross-reference with other SCPs or (pop-)culture, that he will briefly explain.
I recommend checking out the Exploring Series Video about "The Hanged King".
Honestly, I think the Infinite Ikea may be my favorite SCP. To me, it embodies everything the series stands for: looking pretty goofy from the outside, but going further means realizing just how horrifying it can be.
I mean, i still prefer Infinite Ikea than the f-cking Krampus that keeps kidnapping kids around New Year's... Trust me Jack when i say that if you ever want to celebrate Xmas without PTSD don't look that one up.
Anyways, thank you for the reaction and take care o7
Sorry for another interruption at around the point where the journal guy talked with others about their homes and past. I don't think Infinite IKEA stretches across time, rather it stretches across universes. Like everything is same except for a few things. Like in one of the universes the towers still stand and stuff. Although you could be right too.
I worked in an Ikea, and i think they are a pain to navigate. because they tend to funnel you through insane amounts of exhibits. These days there are a few shortcuts for customers, but getting around as an employee is pretty fast. Since you can use all the employee doors and shortcuts, which tend to cut through many of the floor exhibits^^.
I still can't stand Ikea food, I nearly threw it back up at lunch xD. Those meatballs are awful.
The cookies tho are awesome. I try to pick up a pack when going there which is basically every few years since I don't have a car or license^^.
The main classification of the SCP is based on two main things:
- How many resources need to be expended to contain the anomaly.
- How much we know about the anomaly.
The dangerousness of the SCP is not a ranking factor.
For example, an extremely hostile SCP-173 is also considered a Euclid.
On the other hand, SCP-682 is a Keter. It is so costly to contain and so poor what we know about it that I believe it is the only SCP that The Foundation seeks to destroy.
I recommend Volgun's rendition of the SCP "Aerials". The acting is of similar quality and is an interesting story. Haven't seen any other reacting to it.
When thinking of the staff after hearing the fact that their made of nothing but skin, all i could think of is "oops, all skin!" 😂😂
34:00 even the SCP Foundation from the Outside with Drones would not be able to guide them out because they can only see the non anomalous outside of the store that stays always the same.
Its the inside half of the door that keeps moving, so unless they had cameras monitoring every centimetre of the infinite long wall they cant do much even if they want to.
for all intents on purposes its basically the same as a normal sized ikea where the door on random intervals disappears for a random amount of time.
you wouldnt be able to get anyone out because you wouldnt know how long it was gone for and how long it was back for once it comes back and the same problem is with the SCP Ikea, you dont know where the location is you need to guide them to and you dont know how long it stays there and where it will be next.
After all even if you find it with drone 1 and drone 2 guides them its entirely possible that the door is gone before a human could have travelled the given distance with only there own body and things found inside of an ikea store.
So even an infinite amount of drones and cameras still wouldnt be able to solve the problem because you would have to make everyone migrate to locations within reach of the walls which takes an infinite amount of time because you dont know how many people there are in total and how long you need to move the drone to reach the last settlement.
Some of the factors if you think about how it would work can be resolved, theoretically the foundation could start production of an infinite number of gear for 6the mission for example and set everything up to be prepared but even then you would never be done checking an infinite sized store to make sure you didnt miss someone and if you miss just the right amount of settlements you would just have caused the death of all of these people because there wouldnt be enough stranded people left to fight back against the infinite number of monsters. so you dont want to be the one who is responsible for the death of an unknowable number of people.
I also recommend Curious Archive's SCP video. A good overview for what you can expect. And since you've watched several SCP videos already, I think it might help clear and polish your knowledge and make it easier to understand future videos and other lingo thrown around
This is the single most elaborate way I’ve ever seen someone call an ikea employee dumb.
One fun pursuit of mine is trying to find a survival game based on this SCP
40:22 The Walmart in my town (East Texas, US) sells guns, mostly hunting rifles though
Euclid isn't impossible to contain.
Box metaphor for Euclid:
"If you put it in a box, leave it alone, and you don't know if and when it may break out, then it is Euclid."
AKA the medium difficulty in term of containment.
pleas make more scp reacts its so interasting funny and you are a great youtuber keep up the good work
Ooo. Infinite IKEA. I remember reading one story in which hero was trapped in location inspired by it. For a really long time. Immortality meeting infinity might be dark.
Please do more scp from the volgun his channel is so good he is a great narrator
Wait so the Staff constantly tell you to get out and chase after you and a guy apparently got out after being chased then maybe the solution is to let them chase you in the direction they want u to go?
Issue is that they'll corner you (like they do to the 'towns' and surround/attack you while still saying "leave."
While there's some 'maybe' there, they can't confirm it since any that do escape _aren't_ going back in to relay the message, and sending messages 'in' has a bad success rate/would be likely to just go to the normal Ikea, or even get distrusted by those who get the message (since it's effectively saying "let them chase you and see if you get out, if you happen to meet us on the outside, we'll trade notes, it'll be fun.")
Supposedly the Foundation have seen 14 people exit, and only this guy was being chased. I doubt it.
This reminded me that my little brother was the first code Adam in the utah ikea
14:41
Most places like that are named after the guy who created the store. In this case, guy might be named Dick.
Fyi Euclid takes effort to contain or is a sentient or living being, and therefore not completely predictable in it's containment. You could *generally* think of it as medium tier level of containable.
Keter sometimes is uncontainable, but more not reliably containable, probably the most iconic Keter, 682 has frequent break outs. High tier.
The one that frequently is uncontainable is the rare Apollyon class SCP. Though that type is moreso used just to give an impression of the significance, unique terror, or unmitigated mass danger and destruction of the SCP, they also tend to be uncontainable or nearly uncontainable.
Safe: easily contained
Euclid: can be contain but hard
Keter: Hard to contain and will keep breaching
Apollyon: Can't be contained and world-ending
Thaumiel: Can contain other SCPs
Scp3008 is just reverse black Friday change my mind
Some very good tales come from this SCP
lol. It bugs the survivalist in me that, there are people in Exchange who've been there for YEARS right? But their defense sounds like it's only the town "wall" and it boggles my mind why they don't seem to have a system of movable barriers and lookouts, up and down all the aisles leading to the town. Feels like a no brainer to me. It may stop FULLY stop the staff, but slowing them down and buying an extra hour or a few between lights out and morning. Start dropping the staff further from town, and maybe the dropped bodies could impede their progress, once they start forming crowds, you retreat and drop a barrier between you , drop more, rinse....repeat until the lights come back on.
BEST SCP in my opinion
Do ‘When Day Breaks’ next pls, loving the SCP reactiins
Well I'm still wondering where are the toilets? Do they have toilets in the infinite IKEA?
Ooo what music did you have playing whenever you paused? It sounds really good!
Bruh the staff look like me making cursed Ark characters
Now, to introduce him to Tats TopVideo's interview videos on the SCPs.
Especially SCP 682.
Oh when you said Leviathan you meant SCP 3000, Anantashesha. Because there is a different SCP that is called The Leviathan. SCP 169
Internet historian and volgun have a video together talking about scps
Everyone that sees this what is your survival strategy you start off alone first weapon of choice and first base location
If you squint your eyes the guitar case in the background looks like a massive....... Appendage
Jack should play SCP-3008 the roblox game- lol😂
Just a comment to boost your SCP vids in case I forget my comment till morning. G'night!
Im enjoying the scp reactions if you enjoy it it would be fun to see more
Sorry to interrupt the video in like 1 min and 25 sec in, but Euclid doesn't mean hard to contain. Think of Euclids as a gun. They can be contained or uncontained depending on the size however all are dangerous but not by themselves or of their own will. That's why there are only 3 broad terms used for object class - Safe, Euclid and Keter, with subclasses that further inform of the entity's characteristics or traits of need be.
hehehehehehehe
and he thought it wouldn't be scary
hehehehehehehehehehe
Great to see you watch proper SCP content from TheVolgun and other videos that pay respect to the original materials.
A lot of people watch and react to more kids-friendly and cartoonified SCP videos. And there's nothing immediately wrong with that, it's just a little ill-spirit towards the SCP community as a whole imo. This is supposed to be a mature-themed horror collection of creative works, pursuing young target audience by modifying the nature of SCP shows that the creator doesn't pay attention to the original materials and their visions, as well as contribution to more toxic community interactions (usually because attracting younger people in mass result in less reasonable environment like the FNAF community for example). MR. ILLUSTRATED made a video about this and I 100% agree, even if it's a form of gatekeeping.
Is that VTM:B music in the bg?
there is game of this scp :D
MOAR VOLGUN PLSS
volgun lets goo
Bitte mehr
Jack...you are not thinking about conquering our world are you?
More SCP 🤌🏼
Super random unrelated question: ever heard of the band ‘Siamese’? Highly doubt it but they’re like the only Danish music group I listen to and just got curious for no reason lmao
walmarts in the us have guns
your mistaking euclid with keter. keter are the ones that cant be/ highly difficult to contain. euclid is the one before keter so basicalyl medium difficulty
skin is the largest human organ, now why skin is a organ i dont know why.
Welcome to the SCP universe or how I like to call it let's make a trauma out of everything
10:26 huh????
"Vi lukker nu = We are closing now" - if the SCP spoke swedish
@@TheChillzoneX vi stänger nu?
@@huggelion svaret är på danska, förlåt. Det är korrekt
You should also check out MR ILLUSTRATED (Formerly SCP ILLUSTRATED). Their lore videos are REALLY good.
DO NOT check out TheRubber, SCP Explained or Detective Void. Their videos are criminally terrible.
lmao, more so that Scandinavians pronouncing English words sounds uncanny or robotic.
