What a lovely story, and as usual, the Ukrainian poetic style shines through . There's an unmistakable feeling in these movies, I watch all I can as I learn the language ,and I see this poetic sensibility in the way Ukrainian movies are filmed-visuals, dialog, music-all of it is beautifully executed, with so much heart. It's unique, warm, simply very human. Thank you for making this gem available!
This movie seems based on a story that inspired a somewhat darker Czech-Yiddish-Ukrainian film from the 1930s. It's commendable that a lot of time and resources went into making this modest feature as a community project. The most interesting aspect is how the Ukrainian language sounds when spoken by North Americans - it is slower and easier to understand than Ukrainian from native speakers in the homeland. Tragically, the film ends with the Ukrainian soldiers going off to defend their land from the "Muscovites" - something that sadly is still continuing in 2023.
Thanks very much. I have some unique items but rather reluctant to put this material up with so few views to follow. eg. 40 Million Miles a Year after being up nearly a year with only 57 views means very few know its there.
Thank you! This is the finest print of this film you will see. I am sharing rare/unique item on film from the collection. You never know what will show up on this channel. I also share unique information about the films in the descriptions. Please subscribe.
дуже гарний фільм. Ніколи не бачив його. В Україні він невідомий. Багато акторів дуже старанно аж занадто акуратно вимовляють українські слова. Видно, що встигли призабути українську, хоча найвірогідніше вони тут всі мають українське походження
