    here is the most delicious ilish macher matha r lyaja diye dal recipe. THis is very simple and easy one to prepare at home yet very delicious.
    ingredients:
    moong daal - 1 cup
    hilsa head - 2 pieces + (tail piece - 1)
    bay leaf - 1
    dry chili-1
    cumin seeds - 1 tspn
    turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn
    chilly powder - 1/2 tspn
    cumin powder - 1/2 tspn
    gree chili - 4 no.s
    ghee - 1 tspn
    salt as per your taste
    sugar as per your taste
    process:
    fry (without oil) and boil moong daal.
    take a pan and add little oil;
    fry fish head and tail with turmeric powder and salt
    add bay leaf and dry chili and cumin seeds in the remaining oil
    add boiled daal and water cook for 5 minutes
    add fish head and chili with daal
    cook it for 10 minutes
    turn off the flame add ghee
    serve hot with steamed rice.
