- Join world-renowned composer and vocalist Meredith Monk as she opens up a compositional strategy that she calls Vocal Rooms. Starting in a circle, the group is encouraged to utilize the 3D space filling it with movement and sound as they work together in this vocal improvisation activity.

Such great work.... singing songs written for us by other people is one thing. A very valid thing, however, this is another place where we truly slip into the natural authenticity of creation - on every level of humans just being real. Thank you Meredith Monk for your heartful creativity!
When do we learn to be afraid of standing and making a noise.
Before you can own a space or transform an audience’s mood you have to learn not to cowtow to, or fear your own internal voices, which are continually evaluating and judging your actions.
These exercises look pseudish and off the wall but are where we could go creatively without any embarrassment at the age of six or seven.
We have to work very hard to shed our hides or carapace after adolescence, great workshop - doubt I’d have the courage to offer anything in one.
Brilliant. What a way to explore sound in space and encourage us to broaden our horizons and expand our comfort zones. All the idiots belittling this-- I'm really glad you're not part of the new/experimental music scene.
I was so lucky to have done one of these during my bachelors.

Our tendency to see this as unbearably corny or uncomfortable betrays the excessive self-awareness that prevents any form of play. I see a defense mechanism masquerading itself as maturity that is really there to mask the fear of vulnerability (aka authenticity).
