One of the most approachable DT channels I've seen. I'm not a newer player, but in all my hours playing I've never seen any content like this so I'm eating it up and learning some new things along the way. Well done mate, emperor protects 🙏
I love your channel, it has basically became my go to for new info with Tanner's. I was actually wondering a lot about some movement mechanics recently and this helps immensely.
Thanks for the video! I have been doing sliding to move around quickly since i started playing but combining that with the dodge is something new to me and using it on the ledges. Plus the theory behind the movement speed was very informative.
if you're gonna do more tutorials, having an on screen keyboard to show which key presses you're doing might be helpful to newer players who haven't gotten a full grasp on controls yet. Otherwise great video, keep it up
200 hours played been running damnation and some auric… only now just found out you can combine a backwards dodge with a slide. Mind blown. Great content
6:48 it shares that movement speed with the good ol trusty knoif tho. And has more sprint cost, so you get less far tahn with a knoif. (but yeah it is fast)
Love moving quick but I have to admit I kinda despise speed zealots. If I'm playing anything else they tend to just zip off into the far distance and I get bogged down fighting the specials alone.
They are a double sided edge. If they zip away, and actually carry the round, i don't mind, got get them green circles you mad bastard. However if theyre some pepegas that gfet killed by the first hound that spawns on them, then yeah, i take offence to these as well.
I like using a fast weapon paired with a slow one so I can swap to the fast one, slide, and then whip out the big boy. Bonus points for charging a heavy attack during the slide.
People are praising men for being autistic and feminine? Dude is softer than baby shit he’d die day 1 hour 1 of any war or apocalyptic event. Hell he wouldn’t survive 6 blocks of New York City lol
Good video. Now feel free to test this yourself but I've found that because psyker has the lowest stam delay 0.5 if you take a minimum of 3 stam regen 1 sprint (or 2 and 2) on a 1.0 sprint speed weapon you can actually build stamina slowly if you repeatedly slide over and over. This seems to me to be faster than sprinting with no stamina but I wasn't using a spedometer I timed it using a stopwatch. I do feel this works for me in games when I run out of stamina though. If this is the case it may also be considered that veteran can reduce their stamina delay to 0.5 by taking both nodes on the tree and creates the same effect.
Any specific advice for Devil Claw or Heavy Eviscerator please? I'm currently learning to clear damnation consistently and then move to Auric. I really love how convenient the parry of the Devil Claw is for when you are in a pinch against a Rager or a crusher. And the Eviscerator is just plain cool imo.
Jumping: terrible for speed, excellent for jump shots! Jumping to get a clear shot over the horde or a railing/ledge to snipe a special, initiate a brain burst, lob a grenade, tag an enemy! It's so useful that I actually have separate binds for dodge and jump, because sometimes you want to jump sideways to do a fadeaway shot. Also, remember kids, the initial dodge will evade melee attacks, but the followup slide does not! If you time it wrong, those crusher and mauler and monstrosity overheads will still track and hit you!
Absolutely love your videos and builds, they're very entertaining and informative. Is there a discord or an email we could reach out on ? Keep up the good work !
Great video even though aside from trimping I already use pretty much all this...and still get kicked in the teeth 😅 I think proper positionning is what I lack (vet main), if the topic is in the pipes I would welcome it !
First off let me compliment you for proving all the forum trolls saying "solo mode when?" are just not looking hard enough lol Secondly this video is going to cause people to start running off like morrons causing more enemy spawns then flaming team mates for not being terrible at the game. Yes speed = safety and its great BUT moving away from the group CAUSES SPAWNS! the game WILL spawn disablers against any player isolated its a basic game mechanic and it punishes teams who split up. If your in pub game (or don't tell your squad) and you run off quickly while they don't you just made the game harder for your teammates and took yourself out of range to help. Essentially theres a timer/check the game does when its ready to spawn more enemies and it activates spawn locations based on player locations so if the team is in one area then the team gets one set of spawns (ussually multiple doors but not always). If there is too much distance between players it can spawn at multiple locations and when it does this its not spawning the same amount of hostiles but more spread out its spawning a set of hostiles for each location meaning more hostiles each time and it is cumulative. Keep in mind on Auric missions the spawns are large and very frequent so its easy to get cut off causing more and more spawns until the game becomes totally unwinnable and all you need to do to make this happen is move a little too far from your nearest team mate. If a team moves together when spawns are triggered it will be 4 players facing 100% spawn strength BUT if 1 player moves too far away the game will spawn more than the normall 100% lets say 120% for example (changes with many factors) and will direct most of this towards the group of three. This means they will face something like 100% of normal spawn numbers but with only 75% of squad strength. If two players run off when this happens 99% of teams wipe as each player gets overwhelmed and the game just goes nuts, any decent players not trolling will find themselves in a 2 vs 100% of normal spawn situation and IF they live will then have to go rescue the bots of the idiots who ran off died, flamed in chat for not knowing how to play the game and then left. If I missed the part where you explain this to people I do appologise for missing it but that just means other people will of done so too. Also while the knife is a good personally survival tool its almost useless from a are you helping the team point of view, its so quick you trigger more spawns accidently all the time and its one of the worst weapons in the game for holding ground so you inevitably end up running away and triggering yet more spawns for your teammates to save you from. High movement speed knife is a n00b trap and its an extremely difficult weapon to bring to a fight and be a net gain to your team mates, not impossible but theres a reason everyone hates the runny offy zealot (knife) guys and I'm a zealot main saying this. When you run away from anything (as a melee build not applicable to shooty veterans in the same way of course) what you are doing is not pulling your weight leaving the threat for a better player to deal with, runny offy knife players are the worst players for needing to be hard carried and 99% of them think they are the skilled ones when all they do is cause spawns and kite mobs in to squishy classes to pick up thier slack.
I don’t endorse people using this to get far ahead of their team (unless you are running loner, as it negates all the extra spawns etc). There are lots of situations where the amount of enemies pushes you back, and the solution isnt “stand your ground,” its to move to a better position or kite the enemy as your ranged soften them up. Using these techniques enemies will get far fewer attacks on your, and you can choose when to seize your opening and attack them. This isnt even counting the times where this extra speed can mean the difference between getting a save or revive and not being able to in time.
@@MisterEtide Is it confirmed that Loner stops the extra spawns though? I ask because this was what I've thought for a while, however I've seen multiple people (far more experienced than me) say that the spawn-check is a straight-up distance to nearest player check, not a coherency check. So loner will effect those talents/ skills that require coherency, but the spawn-check ignores it and simply counts distance to nearest team-mate.
@@BullDogBreed75 yes the game counts you as in 2 coherency for all purposes. There is a timer that detects players who have been out of coherency for too long, then sends a dog or trapper for them
I know in your tips and tricks video you said switch to mouse and keyboard but I'm going to ask anyway. What are the best dodge setting for controller because I can't map jump to a different button?
Hmmm. Probably a bumper honestly, you want to always be able to hit it, regardless of if youre moving or turning or whatever. Some sort of back button would be ideal if you have a controller with the ones on the back that you are always resting fingers on. reaction speed is key!!
Thanks! Keep the videos coming I was able to get auric exemplar 2 penance completed last night thanks to the community and your vids. Going to keep tweaking my play style and controls until I get it right.
look into controllers with paddles. My dodge is on B (xbox) and jump is A. Then A, B, X, Y are all mapped to my paddles. Crazy helpful. Xbox controller elite 2 but any paddle controller should work
if you do similar videos, please keep the game volume lower than the talk - your character screaming out when doing heavy melees was a little bit annoying :D great info here though
I'm not on board with the "speed is life" sentiment. I feel like its an illusion at best or a crutch at worst. The truth is there are all sorts of players completing all the hardest difficulty with all of the weapons, and some of them aren't even playing zealot. The most important skill to getting good at this game is a very human ability to identify patterns, its a rhythm game or beat saber clone.
Movement is at the center of that game, timing dodges, moving quickly and strategically to put enemies at a disadvantage. Right hand skills like attacking blocking and pushing are all downstream from left hand skills- you have to be in the right position to attack and not get destroyed by enemies while doing so.
@@U.U-lw4ee I disagree and its kind of easy to see players who are using really slow weapons on really slow fat characters, dominate, which suggests your statement might not be 100% correct.
@@MisterEtide I agree that being in the right position is important. I'm saying that the more a player recognizes the patterns needed to win the less critical the specific position becomes and then more spots relative to the enemy become acceptable for winning, making the speed that a player moves from point to point less important. Eventually you just sort of stand in one general area, like an island in the middle of chaos, and kill everything that approaches from any angle.

you should make a weapon blessings breakdown video where you go into detail on how to fix the weaker/overly niche ones.
