loved this presentation! This is what I needed, being a filmmaker and storyteller, I did have my reservations taking on graphic novel writing...but down deep, this is really what I really want to do. Mr. Frattino filled my expectations.
My advice for finding an artist is to find a mate as nuts about comics as you are and go halves on the project. No need to pay up front, he gets paid when you get paid. Collaborate on story and art ideas and do the marketing between you if you have to.
Is there a reason not to both write and illustrate your novel? The appeal of writing graphic novels for me is that it would allow me to marry up story telling and visual art.
