I was 4 when the Blazers won the title, and I don’t really remember that season. But man the people here in Oregon LOVE him for bringing us our only championship. My dad nearly jumped thru the roof when we won the coin toss and got him in the Draft. You will be greatly missed Big Redhead.
What a life! Legendary college career. Iconic NBA moments regardless of all the injuries, and one of the most memorable announcers of all time despite his speech impediment. Amazing human being. We’re going to miss you Bill :(
If there is one guy in the sports world who your kid wants to idolize, Bill would be that guy. There aren't a lot of people in this world who you hear nothing but good things about. Bill was intelligent and interesting in every interview I ever heard. R.I.P. Bill! 🙏

@@javierdelgado1554 loved Hill too.. but as a UNC fan he drove me nuts, lol. I always think about McGrady & Penny, 2 guys who were incredible but had so much more potential if it wasn't for nagging injuries

completely misread him. Do yourself a favor and research him. There aren't alot of people left that were influenced by the legendary coach Mr. John Wooden who taught life lessons. Pyramids of Success was his philosophy. Walton was a brilliant individual with a bottomless fountain of knowledge and this is one of those situations where you don't judge a book by its cover. RIP Bill Walton you are now reunited with Coach Wooden, Dr. Jack, Snapper Jones and Mo Lucas(son Luke Walton was named after Mo Lucas).
@@gtizzle7606 you misunderstood my comment. Let me rephrase...He was goofy and it did not bother him in least to let his goofiness show. He was authentic. He was honest. He was humble. He did not look down on people. Well, technically, people his size "look down" on most of us.😂
@@gtizzle7606you might look up a cartoon about Bill that a newspaper cartoonist did yesterday. It showed Wooden greeting Bill as he got to heaven & congratulating him on a life well lived by using the pyramid of success. Wright Thompson shared it on the gram, it was beautiful
Great segment and tribute to a great man! Thanks.
Jay’s article is something you need to read if you are a Walton fan - well done Jay! Rest in peace Bill, you’ll be missed. 🙏🏻

Rest in Peace Bill.... I am loving all the stories and odes to Bill Walton since his unfortunate passing

Walton was the Jimmy Buffet of the NBA. A great guy, a down to earth guy, hugely accomplished and under appreciated by the talking heads.
Bill Walton. RIP to a wonderful human being.

Totally agree. 👍
A grateful dead fan. Took the Celtics to a grateful dead concert. Known for being unselfish.
Jay's note made me cry!

Hey, Dem dan. Did you see your buddy joey biden nod off during the Memorial Day Celebration? That's your guy? Right? Way to Honor!
I remember his smile….
I wonder what Derrick Rose and Brandon Roys' careers would have been like if they didn't get injured.
Agreed, Rose especially. Roy's was a degenerative thing more than just a single injury though

Wow! Another basketball take. What a shock.

Love this
Jay seems disingenuous
I only knew him from calling games. Seemed goofy and didn't care.
