His vocals are fucking spectacular
why is this band so underratted
they need more press. i never heard of them. my buddy just sent me this video and i'm blown away.
not in my book, who cares about popular opinion! I grew out of the high school mindset whilst in high school, :)
Because people's choices in music suck! I'm glad they are underrated. Makes them even cooler, they will melt your fucking face!
Fame does not equal success, which I'm learning more and more as I get older. Bands like WAND are miles above some of their mainstream contemporaries. But what does it matter? As long as they are making music and some of us are consuming it and trumpeting their name, we all win! It just means if you meet someone who likes WAND you automatically can vouch for them being an interesting person.
It’s no longer about how good your band is like it was in the 60s through 90s. Now it’s about how popular/rich you are. If you can afford the publicity you can shove whatever you want down everyone’s throats. Meanwhile there are bands out there like Wand who get about .003% of the attention they deserve.... it’s really sad.
genuinly the most mind blowing kexp performance ive seen. these guys have sefious talent
totally agree!
WHAT IS THIS I'M WATCHING THIS LIKE FOR THE FOURTH TIME TODAY
Man I remember when this episode of keep was released, I was never the same
about 8 seconds into Lower Order I was a fan for life.
Cheryl is a wonderful person
0:39 Fire On The Mountain
7:30 Floating Head
16:07 Lower Order
20:08 Growing Up Boys
El cambio de fire a floating ... Boom💣
Jesus, this has to be one of the best performances I've ever seen on KEXP. Their sound is immense!
pretty damn awesome, check out Emma Ruth Rundle on KEXP as well, phenomenal performance
One of the best bands I've seen live in over 30+ years of going to gigs. I love Corey and Evan is an outstanding drummer, mesmerising to watch, but the whole band are great.. A fantastic choice of songs, one of the best KEXP sessions yet!
This specific rendition of Fire On The Mountain is in my top three favorite songs in the past year, and I don’t even know what the other two are.
Abysmal, crunching tone transforms seamlessly into something melodic and other-wordly. Not many can pull off what I've just heard, and even less in such an effortless and natural fashion. This video alone made me buy tickets to the only gig on the books in Chicago. Never before have I been sold so fast on a band. Impressive performance from these guys!
love that opener. Cory Hanson is a guitar God. drummer is badass. Just watched this whole thing
this kicks ass. finally something original and dope as hell.
Nice, started off with my favorite track. Thanks for doing that for me, Wand! It's not even my birthday or nothing. I really appreciate that. It's the thought that counts, Wand. Thank you. Thank.
I like dat riff, dats a nice riff. Also.. please bring on Sleep. @KEXP
Cheryl remains as the ultimate homie
(@2:08 finally someone uses the rhythm circuit on a JM in the most productive way possible live) This band comes from the past and the future at the same time - they make me happy and sad at the same times well as apart ... sometimes changing those feelings so quickly in a moment that I fall over onto the bottom of the highest place in the unknown universe, only to slide all the way back down to the empyrean point before doing it all over again.
I love that verse from Growing up boys - growing up boys, the systems going to crash, relax....... I dont want to hurt anyone. I just want to run. Also the bass player looks like Brian Ortega and the keyboard player like the mum from the Shining.
wow the beggining of lower order got me goosebumps, sooooo good
God!!!!! Thank god for kexp. These amazing live performances blow my mind. Id pay a leg to hear this live
The level of chills experienced. Holy poopdoodles!
Growing up boys, fave song. God damn, this band! The best. Them guitar sounds are unearthly.
Man all KEXP live mixes sound amazing! Great band.
3:40 That is how you use a Jazzmaster, just like Kevin Shields said, "It's kinda flying you know... through space."
How "Loveless"
Saw them at a Swiss festival in the middle of the moutains 4 or 5 years ago. It was incredible. Must be the 15th time I watch this kexp session, I will never get tired of it
Yes!
fucking epic, goosebump inducing opening song, oh my god. what a moment. I interviewed Cory about two months after this in Vancouver outside the Commodore. What a talented guy. Love this band.
His voice is amazing!! He's not just wailing but like actually singing
I swear, all the bands in this particular LA scene have had that brown SG at some point. Watch King Tuff and Meatbodies' live sessions, youll see.
yes!!!
MatthewMemento both of those bands are connected by Cory
Flooded like tame impala and the members of pond with the epiphone Wilshire

He thought the band name Wand rhymed with words like hand or band, instead of words like swan.
