Note: This is from the same developer as Infineural, Unsorted VHS and Control Room Alpha. I really dig his games and they feel like they could be set in the same universe.
I recognize the monster that eats ABG at the beginning of this video. It's very unique in that it doesn't hunt by sight or smell. Instead it secretes a pheromones that triggers a pun in people, which it then uses like an advanced form of echolocation to find it's prey. It's known as the Dadjokth. The only known way to disrupt it's hunt is to throw off it's sound based hunting with a high-five.
Hmm an interesting hypothesis, but I believe this to instead be the species Childughith, as it immediately turned violently aggressive once it came into contact with a terrible pun.
Second time watching this, there is something special about the guy building the machine in the beginning. I can't fully explain how a random shadowy "repair man" can give off such an extreme sense of alienation by shunning you. It's more than just creepy lighting. The fact that he's even there- in your cage- free to leave at any time. Like a zookeeper adjusting an animal's habitat. You are herded into a box so he can finish without interruption.
I think it is engineer that saves us in the end. The company may did not allow him to talk with player, that's why hes peobably using the floppy disk and being quiet in the beggining
Rather like Mike’s catalog of horror games, I find his ability to create an enigmatic process which I’m not entirely sure if I want to be a part of fascinating. Being thrust into a situation where you have no idea what you’re doing, also btw the machine you’re being taught to use may just try to kill you somehow, is a pretty spooky idea. It’s like the lament configuration, you know you probably should get away from that thing as far as you can but all these buttons, knobs and levers (and emails) press you onward…
12:49 "the vessel has been honed from far lower depths than earlier meaning that the organism will be exceptionally violent" Me: *hears rhythmic percussion* Yeah, I would be pissed too if I was a metal drummer and someone pulled me away from my practice session.
Hey, you got a thank you in the credits! 👍 I really enjoyed this one. I loved the machinery and the grimy, miserable atmosphere of the game. If I could wish for one thing is that it was longer and we got some more of the story behind what’s happening. Still - 👍👍👍
First really good high-quality, immersive, and interesting indie horror I've seen covered on here in a little while. Really love finding gems like this one!
I like how the vessels almost sound like they’re saying “help me” when they’re pulled up. It could be sounds from the capsule but it’s a cool little detail
I hope you keep on doing what you're doing bro, I'm leaving for marine basic training in a week and look forward to binging all the stuff I missed when I get back 👌🏽
Played this one recently, as it was bundled with the Unsorted Horror collection. Easily my favorite of the bunch! With Concrete Tremor coming in a very close 2nd place. Great audio design, mixed with a really memorable soundtrack. And a solidly constructed minimalist gameplay structure that felt just right. Having two endings to reach for helps too. Story was also engaging. Though I was itching for more by the end of it.
Love these style of games. Atmosphere is everything. Wouldn't there be 3 possible endings? What if you didn't repair the tank and the 'thing' escaped? Or would it not count as a true ending and just a death/game over?
played the game and the outcome is same as injecting the creature with wrong mixture, it will break out but you will just wake up like nothing happened
"Pay chasers, smh. You should be liking coming to work and see working as an opportunity to grow! You should be happy doing something that creates value for the shareholders!"
7:57 ABG: *works at a facility keeping dangerous creatures captured* Ayy what dat button do? *randomly presses unmarked buttons on a control panel that could've very well released them*
12:52 man really like the banging sounds coming from the back area of this area I mean this game should be called dead mechanic where you play as a mechanic fixing dead people to make them come back to life while something trying to get you and murder you
Applause to the engineer for taking a Soviet era machine and make it run smooth as melt butter. Maybe they would want to twich the animation so it feels more rusty
what's the worst thing when working in the scientific experiment place? The toilet. seriously, the foundation makes a huge tons of money from the government investment, even a toilet they couldn't afford!? If i work in there and see a toilet like that, i'll immediately either ask to leave or ask them to make a better toilet. This workplace is a no no to me.
Hi! I've not checked, but there's a good chance it might be. Seems like this could be another shady experiment the organisation in Unsorted VHS is carrying out.
Considering "holding cell", reference to "Papers, please" and general feeling of the game? I feel like ABG was playing as political prisoner. Why else would you even expect a random criminal to perform dangerous science experiments? "Serve your country one last time, traitor". If protagonist was truly dangerous/guilty, I doubt engineer would have decided to help him.
That's it? That was 20 minutes of build up with a weak climax. The concept is ok, but they didn't do anything with it, seems very inspired by Iron Lung. Good sound design, though.
Soy el único al qué le gustaría una version sin fin de este juego? Que no haya límite de días y que cada día aparezca un bicho al azar y que algunos intenten romper la jaula como al final.
Note: This is from the same developer as Infineural, Unsorted VHS and Control Room Alpha. I really dig his games and they feel like they could be set in the same universe.
Control Room Alpha and The Other Side are definitely the same universe, as the same company logo is involved in all three.
I aint surprised actually

Haha! That description definitely deserves a high-five! 🖐
Hmm an interesting hypothesis, but I believe this to instead be the species Childughith, as it immediately turned violently aggressive once it came into contact with a terrible pun.
Wow.
dadjokthv- dad jokes
lo
Hmmmm, it is a joke species related to the eyeless dog?

I love that the developer created two references to games at once
I assume the vessel is reference to his Control room Alpha and the machine is a reference to his Other Side game?
@@henrycooper3431 references to "peper please" and "half life"
@@henriquelc3 oh i see
Thanks
Papers, Please and Half-Life references in the first couple of minutes!
True!
i love the semi implication that the monster in the woods eats ABG cuz of the bad puns
I noticed that too.
Yes, steel-based games are *riveting*
They are so riveting that after I play one, I need some *rust* and relaxation.
But only if it's *weld* deserved.
The true horror of the game is that poop hole.
That is where the Stinkfiend awaits
Haha, yeah that's a sorry excuse for a toilet!
Alternate title: Half-Lung
Half-Lung: Papers, please.
Steel Half-Lung, Please
Carbon steel lung
Full Lung Consequences
Carbon lung
0:38 Not the sequel I expected, but I'm on board. Glory to Arstotzka!
I feel like it is in the Iron Lung universe rather than Papers,Please
Yeah bro it has exactly the same vibe. Of building up to a certain point@@atanaZion
More like a reference than a sequal tbh

Can we all just appreciate the sound design on this one? It is stunning!

"yeah i know the last button stabbed me in the spine and ripped me in half but what does THIS button do"
The machinery is so well done
feels like smth between Yames's games and Iron Lung, plays very well imo
Yea this has major Iron Lung vibes going on. I dig it.

I like this dude's games. The scariest things in the end, turns out to be mankind.
I read the emails in the voice of Festus the Leechlord from the Warhamner universe and the entire game made total sense.
First really good high-quality, immersive, and interesting indie horror I've seen covered on here in a little while. Really love finding gems like this one!
Wow Black Mesa really cut their budget after the incident.
I love how the banging of the creature is internationally made apart the music's beat, that's cool and suits the beat.

@@georgeofhamilton It's the matrix monster from one of LTG's bedtime stories.
I don’t think that monster in the bush appreciates your puns very much. Not like we do. Lol

Good Lord, the music and sound design in this one is nuts. Some of the best I've heard from your channel. Keep up the good work!

played the game and the outcome is same as injecting the creature with wrong mixture, it will break out but you will just wake up like nothing happened
You wake up at the start of the day you died on.
This is why you should study hard kids, so you don't end up doing manual labour at a research lab specialized in deep sea horrors
And they wonder why nobody wants to work anymore.

Reminds me of Made in Abyss. The experiments they did to test the effects of fast ascension through the hole.
The sound design on this game is just asmr heaven 😩
I love how in the description RUclips said that its Five Night's at Freddy's
I hate how everything looks like it’s covered in blood
Feels like an Iron lung prequel.
Applause to the engineer for taking a Soviet era machine and make it run smooth as melt butter.

the soundtrack of this caught me off guard so much, the banging of the creature at the end syncing with the music....damn
Thank you for always creating content.
1:22 Looks like you're running late today Mr. Freeman
Mike Klubnika becoming a well known Dev after buckshot roullette

Wait, this is also really similar to “The Other Side.”
Gordon in a nightmare: "Not this shit again!!!"

Giving me Made in Abyss vibes
Especially, the bad ending.
The game looks amazing ! Love it

I have a feeling this is a sequel or prequel to Iron Lung
I feel like that makes sense for how strong that alien is in the game
I dont think it could be one
The devs of both games are different
Two different games and devs.
Sure that's not black mesas darker science experimentation corners where that game takes place?
So do you have to do the fluids in the right order or can you just do them however you want (not quantity, order)
start of the game is just straight up Half Life 1
Oooh, another one of Klubnika's gems!
