I think you handled this conversation well. The thing with Mr Black, and he even admits to it, is that he’s so aggressive. Someone who just goes out of the gates swinging, using ad hominems and personal attacks, and generally just acting like a schoolyard bully doesn’t encourage for intellectual discourse. He claims he’s doing it because it’s the only thing that works, yet he hates on all of these fitness influencers who are getting 10-1000x the attention he is doing without - in his words - not bringing anything new or helpful to the table. Which is just a huge cognitive dissonance. It works to be aggressive and call people out, yet he complains that the ones who just aren’t interested in debating someone acting like a bully are getting tons of more traction. If your models are truly evidence-based, then the likelihood of some other individual delving into those same studies, could come to similar conclusions. And if yours are evidence based and good recs, someone else could come to those conclusion as well. Conclusions aren't yours only lol.
