@@Amuz3d2Deth Helix kicks ass. Heavy Metal Love, Bangin Off Of The Bricks, Deep Cuts the knife, White Lace and Black Leather, Dirty Dog, What ya bringing to the party and Dream on, plus so many more, I never understood how Helix wasn't a rock n roll household name.
just discovered this band after picking up the mean streak record in a used record shop. it's awesome how something that came out in 1983 can still have such an impact on a 17 year old kid almost 30 years later!
I was in a band lucky enough to open for these guys 2 years ago. Phil and Dave were two of the nicest guys you'll EVER meet. Phil was also quite a jokester. We miss you Phil. I can honestly say I shed a few tears over this one.
Whoa !!! 06-2021 .. this rip-tear rock masterpiece needs pulling into the future.. done ! And I've been waiting to toss this to 💖 her.. my poison Ivy ☺️
What a kick ass band. They actually played during our High School lunch break. They were there on stage playing like it was a major gig. They were spot on , it was in the place where school plays and the like we're done. There were stadium like seating. Those who went going into knowing how they rocked those unknowing were all impressed. Under rated maybe poor pro and management they were great and I'm glad for the memory.
First concert I ever saw 1985 Ann Arbor MI. Y&T opening for Motley Crue on thier theatre of pain tour....Y&T had a awesome show that night.......ages ago and still remember it!!!!!!!
Love the words in this song.I also got a chance to see Y & T at the Sana Monica Civic also around 82' - 83' opening up for Wasp.It was a killer show. A main California staple - Y & T.Always like Dave's Meniketti's unique vocals...The band rocks.....
people of earth, this is y & t. tell your friends, tell your family, tell people you dont even like, just tell people about this epicly awsome band. they need our help for more followers.
NASCARFAN160 I had the N64 version. Always raced with Jeff Gordon. Won at Rockingham twice, Talladega 3 times (that was actually my best track), Atlanta twice, Miami, Las Vegas, Texas and the Coke 600.
the opening riff is wicked! love that riff especially the artificial harmonics .this tracks guitar work is great lots of chops .lol LONG LIVE 80'S HAIR METAL AND HEAVY METAL IN GENERAL!!!
I had this song on a Masters of Mertal tape with Rainbow Street of Dreams, Dio Rainbow in the Dark, Krokus Screaming in the Night, Triumph World of Fantasy, and many others. Fell in love with all those songs after hearing them for the first time.
I saw these guys in the early 80's in the UK twice. I think they were the support band for AC/DC on a UK Tour. I thought they were so good after the first gig I saw, I went straight out and bought all their back catalogue. They absolutely rocked! Meniketti and Alves in particular rocked hard! I hope they tour again soon I missed them in 2009.
I may be old because I not only remember them and had their vinyl. But I do know this... you can't beat awesome rock like ths with any stick! Proof... my son who wasn't even born when Y&T put this out loves theior music. Hell he own's Meniketti's solo albums and even bought Facemelter for ME! Damn, but that boy has taste.
Mid 80s--I Remember rippng up the Lakeshore in Toronto with this and Dio blaring out the window of my 70 Chevelle SS---good times. Still have the car btw.
@lymbicnoodle Sad that they never hit the big time like bands of that era. They are such a great band, and have always had tasty songs. "Mean Streak" is the first one i had ever heard. One time in the 80's, i saw them perform live, on national TV! They did "Black Tiger" and "Open Fire". VERY awesome!
Will see these guys this weekend at Swedish Rock Festival (among 30.000 metal heads). Really looking forward as this was one of my favorite bands many years ago. I totally agree this band is one of the most underated bands ever.
Yep...we are....ha...I saw these guys in a small Philly club and I paid $25.00 for two tickets and by the time the event was tobescheduled there were literally 6 tickets sold so they decided to open the doors for free about 11 people in the clubYet Y&T came out and performed a mastershow. It was awesome I stood rightin front of the stage which was only waist height...Great Great show...Only a few short days later they played in Oakland, where they are from, to a sold out Oakland Coliseum.
Damn this video is old, but awesome! I remember it like it was yesterday, and it was at least 20 years ago when i last heard the song. I am surprised i still knew some of the lyrics! Dave Maniketti/Y&T is kick ass!
I remember hanging out with these guys at their practice studio (aka a metal shack) back in the early 80's as a 2nd grader. My dad would laugh at me for falling asleep while they were playing at eardrum shattering levels...well it was past my bed time. Ah the memories.
I prefer this version of Yesterday and Today over the "Summertime Girls" version that showed its ugly face only two short years later and then never left. This song flat out rocked my Senior year of HSchool in 83, good times indeed. I wish Dave would have continued on this path. Earthshaker, Black Tiger and Mean Streak are must haves for serious rockers. "In Rock We Trust" contained some solid stuff as well. I will always remember them for songs like "Mean Streak" and not the Baywatch crap.
@mactrojan I have Los Angeles radio 94.7 KMET METAL shop shows from 1984 where it all began that feature Y&T and a ton of other bands on them. E-bay - Search KMET Jim Ladd. I found a box full of tapes that I taped back in the day that I transfered to CD. Excellent quality. Check it out. Back in LA where it all started.
Thats awesome. I went to see Tin Machine at a small club in San Diego, maybe 25 people (maybe because TIN MACHINE suck musically) but there I am waist height with David Bowie, he stuck around and we had a beer afterwards. Sometimes things you don't plan for work out the best. I guess Philly doesn't really know how to rock.
Y&T absolutely ruled and deserved to be major arena headliners. What a great lead player Meniketti is! I never saw anyone successfully pull off that volume knob trick he does (on "Black Tiger", among other tracks), at least not at that speed. Leonard Haze was a very underrated drummer. And of course, R.I.P. Phil Kennemore. Who's their current bass player?
One of the most underrated bands..and not as well known as they should be. These guys remind me of the 80's..one of the great bands of that era IMHO
that is no lie brother no lie I was in high school at the time so it was badass
Like Armored Saint or Helix, Vastly under looked and Under Rated!

I think Summertime Girls sank them.

Same here a few years back. Amazing how that cover art catches the eye.
This was always one of those songs it was extremely dangerous to play while driving my '66 Chevelle ;-)
I was in a band lucky enough to open for these guys 2 years ago. Phil and Dave were two of the nicest guys you'll EVER meet. Phil was also quite a jokester. We miss you Phil. I can honestly say I shed a few tears over this one.
Oh the sweet memories. How I did love that Masters of Metal tape cassette. My other favorite track was Trashed by Sabbath.
Had the same masters of metal tape.
Oh shit I love this song! I can still remember when I heard this song first time in 1983. Y&T still kick ass!
Dave Meniketti always had an awesome voice.. these guys never got the recognition of the pretty boy bands.
Another!!... Killer Band to the Sound track of my Life... Kidden me!... Another band, so Underated ... Gotta love the 80's!......

Gracias por alegrarnos la vida con tu musica amigo!!!!
Phil Kennemore R.I.P., God bless you.
One divorce later... i wish I'd taken this song to heart.
Always enjoyed Dave's vocals and their high energy music. Please bring this music back to stay
First concert I ever saw 1985 Ann Arbor MI. Y&T opening for Motley Crue on thier theatre of pain tour....Y&T had a awesome show that night.......ages ago and still remember it!!!!!!!
what a great riff !! i love it ..God, those days were so positive in music.. Playing from the heart.

NASCAR 2000! This hits me in the nostalgia hard.
I loved that game... I think I still have the CD-ROM somewhere
ElTuailait So do I. Sadly it doesn't work on my new computer. :(

Another 80's MTV classic.
Saw them at the 1984 Monsters of Rock at Donington in the UK. Brilliant.
I had this song on a Masters of Mertal tape with Rainbow Street of Dreams, Dio Rainbow in the Dark, Krokus Screaming in the Night, Triumph World of Fantasy, and many others. Fell in love with all those songs after hearing them for the first time.
Me too

saw these guys in 87' in Austin,TX. Gary Moor,Faster Pussycat,Y&T, and Ace Frehley. I still have the Y&T and Ace Frehley shirts from that show.
Thanks! Good to know Y&T fans still exist. Have to check them out if they come to Rhode Island.
oh yeah y&t at the santa clara county fair great times!!
Menekitti (?) has such a cool rock voice. Powerful.
This band never got the credit it deserved.
Great Voals, great riffs.....just an all around great band.
Mid 80s--I Remember rippng up the Lakeshore in Toronto with this and Dio blaring out the window of my 70 Chevelle SS---good times. Still have the car btw.
I have listened to Y&T since the early 80's. When I first heard Volbeat "Heaven Nor Hell" I thought that they sounded a bit like Y&T.
definately an under rated heavey metal band. this is some of the best guitar work of all time!
awesome, superb, great, please upload their full studio albums, thanks.
These guys kick ass, in fact I'm gonna see em tonite in dallas...rock on!!!
Saw them on the meanstreak tour....aged 13, 1983 Manchester Apollo, UK....

Just.so. damn. Stoned.
I remember hanging out with these guys at their practice studio (aka a metal shack) back in the early 80's as a 2nd grader. My dad would laugh at me for falling asleep while they were playing at eardrum shattering levels...well it was past my bed time. Ah the memories.
Classic lineup, Leonard and Joey, awesome players
if WE remember this highly underrated band we are old but ROCK ON
Serious sounds from a super group. Good stuff.
My first favorite song of Y&T
Saw these guys in Liverpool Wednesday night, they're absolutely amazing :D
Holy shit, that rules! One of the highlights of my life was hanging out with Marky Ramone and The Misfits but that was a bit later.
Saw these guys and Dokken open for Twisted Sister in 1984........damn that was ages ago...am I that old
Thats wicked! 67 people rulz the 80's metal! \m/

Dave outlived them all.
Leonard Haze was a SAVAGE drummer! Great band!
I certainly hope they have these type of videos preserved somewhere
my favorite song by them.
Current bass player is Brad Lang. He's doing a fine job too,saw them last night in Birmingham England, brilliant as usual.

The only difference between me then and now is that now I don't need to ask people to buy me beer. I still feel young
With Y&T it really depends on which album you are listening to. Either way it is great music from a solid rock band.
I discovered this song from Nascar 2000 soundtrack. This is great old school rock.
i love Y&T there awesome!!!!!!
great band, great times
Thats awesome. Hair Rock is still my favorite genre.
I remember when the drummer was in REAPER bak in allentown, Pa.

Yea saw these guys in Pittsburgh, PA about `84 or `85 ....can`t remember...with maybe Motley Crue or maybe Twisted Sister...not sure
Y&T absolutely ruled and deserved to be major arena headliners. What a great lead player Meniketti is! The main riff is a KILLER with fuckin gorgeous screaming harmonics !!!
Y&T Rocks
saw these guys in '86 in El Paso opening for Aerosmith. They blew Steve and the boys off the stage.

@purseonal2010 Phil Kennemore was his name, and he died last month from lung cancer. He was 57. He was one of the founding members of the band.

just as you mentioned it. Never compared Sam with Dave. This Dave. He's got a sound so much full of something. This Dave.
Far better video than their Baywatchy Summertime Girls...this was their heyday!!!
