Both Kosem and Hurrem as well as Nurbanu had the love of their sultan to back them since the beginning and built from there, Ibrahim lost interest in Turhan pretty soon and also almost killed her son in a fit. She had been put aside and yet she survived, took down the strongest one (Kosem) and managed to keep her son alive and on the throne. Gotta respect that.
