as a songwriter, his point about it being "none of his business" how music touches people - that's a really tough thing to grasp. that passing comment indicates glen's level of mastery with writing and performing. good advice for folks who struggle thinking their work isn't ever good enough.
As an artist, you make the best art you can make. But you have to make it for you. If someone else finds value in it, great. But it is most important (and should be most important) to you.
december125690 I had the absolute joy of meeting him in March of 2018 after a show in Chicago (which he killed). He is a total sweetheart. Very kind and gives great hugs.
Yes!! Thank you, Glen! The turn of phrase and the wording of any sentence in the English language is potentially of monumental importance. They're not just there as filler. Arrange them correctly, and it's the very essence of being human.
Great interview and words of wisdom! When writing stand up comedy, the goal is to use as few words as possible. Extra words dilute the effect, same with music imo. Check out Supertramp's "Give a Little Bit" or Ringo Starr's "It Don't Come Easy", such incredible wisdom encapsulated in 2 minutes and so few words. And only a true friend will tell you when it's not cutting it, it hurts but the trust gets you thru to the point to see what they are saying...

Damien Rice (another Irish genius) said basically the same sentence but in more significant details:

I’ve just come upon him recently, but this guy, Sam Jones, is a consummate interviewer. Just superb!
Best interviewer ever.

I like glen . Real old school dub
I especially love this series because I don't have the attention span to watch a 30 minute interview :(

I went through the same thing with flash backs
I dislike whoever disliked this video.
Shouldn't it be 'learnt' in the title?
