I think one of my favorite things about this season was that THE THEME SONG ACTUALLY HAD A PURPOSE! It helped to defeat the "final" villain, and that kind of tie-in is really really cool.
Right??? I loved it! The ending theme was fun too.
Two things that I wanna mention to you. The reason Daigo and Amy got together was because their actors started to date and the writer decided "eh, why not?". Also, Nossan's actor gave his approval and "good luck" to Koda's actor.

LOL, good enough reason for them to get together, I suppose. I guess that's why they seemed to have more chemistry in the finale then at any one point in the series. And the Nossan thing is adorable!
Kyoryuger is my all time favorite Super Sentai series. It even ended up being the first season whose Bandai if Japan merchandise I bought. I’m so glad you enjoyed it
Toqger is the season I bought the toys for. Outside of the wild elephant zord and giraffe zord.

Its my wife's and my favorite series as well. And I've finished 22 out of 42 seasons. I've seen at least 2 of every season. I didn't buy any of the toys, but I did purchase the soundtrack.

I wrote off Amy/King simple relationship as them being very straight forward simple people. It didn’t need much for them to be together “oh we both like each other. Ok done!”
Ian and Best girl could be a dynamic fit. He gets on well with younger people and is a caring guy. If she was with King she would get lost in the dust of his break-neck pace. Ian cares about the individual needs of each person.
In terms of Amy (my all time favorite Pink) and King. Sometimes you don't realize you like someone until a rival shows up. By the end of the season they were only going on their first date, so there was more than enough time post season to begin a relationship. To find out how that progressed, you need to watch the 100 years later movie.
I’m so glad i’m not the only one who felt Nossan was one of the best parts of the show and a god damn delight, this guy never stopped being a good guy, no matter how things got, he always made sure to find times to make dad jokes all because he always found time to see the good in things. He gave Candeleria a chance knowing she was meant for being better than just being a monster, he loves his niece like a daughter and even the niece see’s him as a dad, and while the butt of a lot of jokes, Nossan was never treated poorly, in fact, one of the best parts I love about his first focus episode was the team realizing how quiet things were without him, kind of like that episode in the last air bender when Sokka trained to be a better swordsman, the team realizes the clown is actually needed more than they think. Good thing Nossan is a clown with muscles to spare because that dude strong as fuck~
Zyuranger was a game changer on the cinematography and fight choreography side as well as the story side. Love to know your thoughts.
Ah, haven't seen Mighty Morphin's older brother yet. That should be fun.
I haven’t seen it either, but I heard it’s actually one of Sentai’s weaker seasons.
Yayoi is great. I wish she got a bigger role. Apparently the directors wanted to give her more screentime but since KyoryuViolet doesn't have special weapons or other "main character" gimmicks they couldn't fit as much as they wanted. The production side distinguishes the 7 "core" Kyoryugers from the 3 spirit rangers, so there was only so much they could do under the budgetary and contractual constraints they were working with.

Yayoi's american counterpart was a main character, but when Kendall became the purple ranger, fans had to blame Saban against plenty of original footage, deciding that the show copy female Kyoryu Violet hardly around in Kyoryuger.
How tragic. Although, the joke they pulled about her not being dead but still being lubbed in with the Spirit Rangers was funny.
fun fact: Kyoryuger's main wirter Riku Sanjo, is bad with large casts, so he had to juggle the spirit rangers to compasete, but his best work was his first job as a main wirter: Kamen Rider W

Nossan’s sister was SPD’s sentai’s yellow and gets a quick nod to that when one of her punches becomes the spd morphing sequence and she says the word “emergency!” as it happens then looks at it like “this feels familiar”
Can we just talk about how that theme song is EPIC, although I enjoy the Dino Charge intro because the main verse is badass, this one still got me pumped. I also appreciated the Latin American elements in this season, it was a fun addition.

Kyoryuger was a fun ride of a show. I liked the team the dynamic and the usage of the supporting rangers was awesome. Like you said I enjoy both this and Dino Charge equally. My biggest highlight was the big dino team up movie and the 10 ranger morph and roll call
Voltasaur was a translation choice to make it easier for subs by OT and not their name. If I were to make a recommendation for future videos. When objects have an specific name, go with the Japanese way of saying it. Someone explained it to me once why they followed some sub groups. Let's say there was a character named Ryusei. It means Shooting Star. However you wouldn't see it translated. 'Hey Shooting Star, how is your day going?' You see translated as. 'Hey Ryusei, how is your day going?'
ZyuDenRyu actually means Electric Beast Dragons. However since they are a thing with a name. ZyuDenRyu is what they should be referred as.
love this season too, often wacky but with a nice amount of emotionally resonant moments with what a great memorable cast.
Don't know if you are aware but this but kyoryuger has a notable amount of sentai fans that outright despise it and more specifically daigo, after I finished it myself I just could not comprehend the vitriol thrown towards it and the great aspects of the season you emphasized only reinforced my feelings for it

I'm presently working on finishing my 30th season, and without question, Kyoryuger is my absolute favorite. While some seasons I've had to slog through, this one was a delight. I've completed season 37 at least 3 times. Maybe 4. Something you might not be aware of, is the use of former sentai actors. For instance Nossan's sister was Deka Yellow, while Souji's parents were Dyna Black and Pink, 30 years earlier. And yeah I'm really looking forward to you watching Gokaiger.
It's always interesting and refreshing to hear your perspective. The general ranger fandom has mixed feelings about Kyoryuger, especially on rangerboard. From what I understand they seem to really dislike the focus on red over other characters, which to be honest I'm not sure I agree with.
Also I think you would enjoy Gekiranger, especially the villains. Maybe also Dekaranger.
Every Sentai/PR series focuses to much on Red RPM was a rare chance for Black to shine, and MMPR 2&3 became the Tommy Show featuring the Power Rangers

@@leonardofarias8843 MMPR is mostly about tommy(Green,White), Zeo was mostly about Tommy(Red), Turbo was about Justin(10yearold Blue), From Space to Jungle Fury the Red Ranger gets the most focus, RPM is about Black and then Samurai-Dino Charge gives most story focus to Red again.
@@BiggestDoucheEver While you're not wrong, I'd argue that SPD makes Sky the most important character, that the handful of times Ninja Storm did get serious, Cam's episodes carried the greater impact, and that Trent's story involvement ends up mattering more than Conner's overall. So I don't think it's as simple as every Red gets the spotlight. Although, RPM was better than most about making their Black, Green, and Doctor, shine perhaps even more than Scott himself.
I love kyoryuger so much, it and gokaiger are my favorite super sentai series. The story, the characters and the music are amazing in these series and the case of the music, super sentai as a whole has really good music, especially the 6th rangers (like abarekiller, gouraigers, magishine gokai silver and bouken silver's themes etc...) kyoryu gold's theme like you said its great (along with the conclusion of Utsusemimaru and Dogold's thing that was awesome) but my favorite is kyoryu silver's theme (senkou no brave).
I could talk about this sentai for hours if I could, but anyways can't wait for the gokaiger video.
I agree with you there I would LOVE to see you praise Kamen Rider W (or Gaim)
Kamen Rider W or Wizard would be cool to see. W more so, because of all the "hard boiled" jokes
I plan to start with Gaim because the writer also did Madoka Magica, so I'm hoping it doesn't disappoint.

Kyoryuger and ninnger are the only two adapted seasons that I watched before their ranger counterparts. But that's because they hadn't been released yet.
Also.the ending gets me everytime even though I've watched the season twice and am thinking of starting a third viewing.
I think about this video a lot; the "grab my be the shirt collar" part. That's exactly how I feel. almost word for word how I feel about this show. It's very validating considering how many others overlook it in their lists or reviews.
I think it's that the characters are the focus and some people appreciate that where others are more interested in other things, not that either is better than the other.
I really enjoyed this season as well. It was one of the first Sentai seasons I have watched all of the way through. Pure Sentai fans do say it is one of the weaker seasons out of all of Sentai. But I actually really enjoyed it. I loved all of the characters and the stories that were told with them. And I do like how they brought music into the season. I was the same as you who watched Dino Charge first then this, and it is hard not to make comparisons but I think this show does stand up on its own. It will be interesting to see what you think of some of the other seasons. One season that I would recommend just for curiosity and how so different it is to the Ranger counterpart is Engine Sentai Go-Onger (equivalent to RPM). I would be interested to see if you enjoy that or not.

I can definitely say that as someone who followed kyoryuger when it aired that i definitely got A LOT of wild force vibes from this series and to this day is probably my favorite sentai ever since i started watching sentai

Good for you. Glad you getting into this awesome franchise. Not all shows will appeal to you and it would be best if you throw away your Power rangers mindset (if you have one) i recommend Gokiager if you haven't seen it. Amazing show and it's what got me into Sentai. Others

Kyoryuger has became my favorite sentai series. It all started when I heard Power Rangers was adapting a new season called Dino Charge years ago..... and I wanted to check out the sentai version. And then I fell in love....

Honestly, you should watch Gokaiger after you watch more seasons. That season is so much better if you have a more intimate knowledge and relationship with the past seasons as it brings in many past rangers and continues their stories.
Yeah I would suggest watching at least every season Shout Factory subbed before going into Gokaiger
I'd only seen Dekaranger, Shinkenger, Boukenger and a couple episodes of Abbaranger plus the Gaoranger Vs Hurricanger movie before watching Gokaiger
I'd argue that while yeah you'd have a greater appreciation, Gokaiger has some of the best stand alone character focused episodes on it's rangers I've ever seen all within the first 15 episodes.
Haha, that's the plan currently! I want to watch a couple older seasons prior to taking a closer look at the Space Pirates.
The Disney Brain I suggest Jetman , Dairanger and megaranger as a few seasons to watch before Gokaiger
So growing up in the 90's I started with Mighty Morphin. I had no idea Sentai existed until Jungle Fury/RPM times, and didn't consider watching Sentai until Samurai came along, so I'm not sure how many of the series from MMPR to RPM that I had finished before then but I can say that I watched them as ften as I could. So on that note, I can say that I'm not entirely sure which seasons I watched to completion before Shinkenger, which was the first Sentai I cmpleted.

Holy shit I really loved this series, even though Daigo kinda had too much focus (Though I did like his struggle against Kyoryu Grey; his character actually developed) .Ian, Souji, and Utchy's character arcs were legit freaking GOLD. Amy and Nossan characters were pretty well written, espiacally Nossan going from riches to rags for his sister.

Loved Nossans puns too. I preferred the show’s subs to the movies’. The show took some more liberties to make the puns work in English.
The movies put the a literal translation (with no humor) in the dialogue then put at the top of the screen “here are the Japanese words that sound similar and make this a joke. So it’s funny. Got it? Good”.

@@RiderNexus Sentai is getting cancelled next year If Ryusoulger doesn't sell 20 billion toys. And Rider is most likely dead due to Zi-O's cost. And apparently Toei is willing to replace both shows with Precure.

I watched Zyuranger out of curiosity a while ago and found it interesting but Kyoryuger was just FUN. I’ve since watched Kakursnger (fine had to push myself to finish), Carranger(great! Hilarious!) got 3 into Dairanger and couldn’t, Gokaiger (fun and good group dynamic), and am currently enjoying Abaranger’s more complex mix that I can’t quite put words to. It’s more serious than others I’ve enjoyed as much but is still light hearted when it wants to be. Strange that it works but it does.

In an answer to your question regarding watching a Sentai after you have ready watched its PR adaptation, it is definitely something I am guilty of. I grew up watching PR and the last seasons I watched before graduating high school were Jungle Fury and the other Disney era seasons. When I would watch the Sentai series much later I found myself constantly comparing the two. It took me a while but I eventually learned to give a more nuanced look to each series, looking at what each season did right and where they could have done better.
For example, I honestly love Go-onger but RPM had much better overall story. And between Gekiranger and Jungle Fury, I honestly cannot chose since both were done really well, conveying more or less the same story, but in different ways.
But that's just my experience. Honestly, it sounds like you're having an overall better experience than I did while crossing over between the two franchises. Can't wait to watch your next Sentai video! *cough* Gokaiger *cough cough*
Be sure to check out Dairanger. It is my personal favorite, and it has as Persona feel to it with the characters.
I found dino charge and kyoryuger to both be pretty distinct from one another so it was easy to differentiate them
Some might say this is a cruel suggestion, I'm on the final stretch myself, but Zyuranger. It's easily available and interesting to see what Saban did to the season to make their own property. Hearing your review, I'm thinking I'm going to have to check out Kyuryuger. Didn't want to jump right into another dino sentai, but it does sound fun.
Kyoryuger was the last Super Sentai were I had so much fun watching it. Sentai doesn't have that magic anymore like I feel it once did. I plan to watch Ryusouger and who knows, maybe the magic will come back.
You mentioned Lucky. Did you finish Uchu Sentai Kyuranger? What are your thoughts on that season?
With Power Rangers Beast Morphers being a bit of a mixed bag to me personaly when it comes to enjoying the season. It finally made me take the plunge into super sentai, and wow! I've been missing out. Kyuranger is my first to pick up, and once I finish that up I'll probably move to Goseiger since I think I'll dig the whole angelic and heavenly theme to it.
Is Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger Brave available on region 1 DVD so Americans can check it out? Is there a good way to watch the sequel series to Sentai Kyoryuger?

Hey, I know you're into sentai now because of Power Rangers, but have you ever thought about trying other tokusatsu shows too? If not, I'll you a suggestion for Kamen Rider Build. Based on what you like about the series you reviewed until now, I think you'll really enjoy that one.
Dino charge had some really fun Rangers and interaction but lost out a lot when the villains and side characters didn't get properly transfered. Kyoryuger is my favorite senti cause of the villain story

Where is a good place to watch Sentai seasons? I have caught a few subbed movies here on RUclips, but don't have a source at the moment to watch the seasons.
yayoi's actress was in highschool at the time, so that's why she's not in it as much. Also, the writer of this show also did kamen rider w.
at the time yayoi's actress was a highschooler and japan's laws towards people of that age having that kind of job are strict hence why she appeared so little in the show
The best part of watching Kyoryuger before Dino Charge is hearing Koda hum the theme song.

I haven't seen Dekaranger, but I've heard that's episodic and focuses on character development, too. It'll probably come out on DVD in about a year.
...Speaking of which, I've wanted to watch Dekaranger for a while, but I'd feel guilty about downloading fansubs and I can't get Shout! Factory's DVDs where I live, so I'm out of luck.
I have seen it. I really like it. Only issues i have is Ban (dekared, i found him annoying) and how the dekarangers killed villians instead of locking them up like what power rangers did but i recommend it. Look up a website called kissasain. Thats where i watch my sentai.

When you finish the newer Sentai on the docket, I recommend going back and checking out some of the older seasons. Specifically, I suggest watching Liveman, Jetman, and Dairanger
Jetman was awesome and nearly the first season of Power Rangers. Dairanger was nearly as good. Dairanger was my first real introduction to Super Sentai outside the Lost in Translation Dino Thunder episode.

everything that was adapted so far i have seen the Power Rangers version first then eventually the Sentai as i have not yet seen even every Sentai adapted into Power Rangers.

Watch Go-Busters, it's being adapted into Beast Morphers and they teamed up with Kyoryuger twice.
Also, it borrows HEAVILY from Power Rangers. It seems intentially to have been made as a PR tribute.

I got to thinking about other toku shows. I know you have your hands full with super sentai right now, but it would be interesting if you would do some of the others down the line. Some of my favorites from Japan are: the Ultraman series, Gransazer, Justiriser, and Resce Force. From America, some of the shows I find entertaining are: Superhuman Samurai Sybersquad, Beetleborgs, and VR Troopers.

I'm still in the middle of watching Gokaiger but I've heard good things about Goseiger.
I really liked Goseiger. Many of my friends thought that Alata ws too childish, but they only watched a few episodes and didn't really give him a chance.

I watched Gekiranger a few years after i saw Jungle Fury, and like you i didn't make comparisons to each other. Geki was great and so was Jungle Fury. If you have a chance defiantly watch Gekiranger.
