बहुत ही उम्दा रचना थी विधाता। बचपन में देखी थी सो सारी यादें अंगड़ाइयां लेने लगी,आपकी बेमिसाल प्रजेंटेशन से । क्या अदाकार थे उन दिनों ! मौसिकी, निर्देशन, सिनेमेटोग्राफी सब कुछ लाजवाब था ... काश कोई लौटा दे मेरे बीते दिनों को...

बहुत शानदार फिल्म लगी विधाता। दिलीप साहब की मेरी नज़र में चंद बढ़िया फिल्मों में से एक विधाता है। पहले क्रांति, और दूसरे ही वर्ष विधाता सर्वोच्च फिल्म बन गई। विचित्र संयोग है कि पूरे सत्तर के दशक में दिलीप साहब एक बड़ी हिट नहीं दे पाए, शोले के ठाकुर का रोल उनके पास आया भी और उनके अपने गलत निर्णय से निकल भी गया हाथ से, जिसका उन्हें अफ़सोस भी रहा।कुल जमा फिल्में ईन मीन तीन ही की होंगी, पूरे दशक में जैसे गायब ही रहे।
और अस्सी के दशक की शुरुआत में ही जैसे एक नए रूप और जोश के साथ छा गए।
विधाता में शम्मी कपूर, संजीव कुमार, पद्मिनी ने भी अच्छा रोल निभाया। लेकिन फिल्म के केंद्र में यूसुफ साहब ही रहे। मुख्य धारा के नायकों में माफिया सरदार/गोडफादर का ऐसा करीने से किया गया रोल अभी तक तो बालीवुड में कोई और कर नहीं पाया है। निस्संदेह इसमें सुभाष घई का निर्देशन भी क़माल का रहा है। फिल्म का गीत संगीत लोकप्रिय हो ही गया था। अतः फिल्म में एक अतिरिक्त आकर्षण भी जुड़ गया।

Very nice episode once again. I haven't seen this movie nor do i specifically want to. If i remember correctly, it was given an Adults rating and so my parents saw it but didn't take us along.

I saw this when I was a little girl and I loved the songs and till today I think its a great movie. Sarika was the most beautiful woman in that movie. Yes, Padmini was an extraordinary actress. Always marvelous. What a great entertainer and a forever movie. You could tell while watching the movie that Sanjay was totally on drugs. His eyes and slurry Abu Babba. During the whole movie made that so clear. Once again, really good research work. Good job Sir. Hat's off !!

I operated this film in cinema hall at Sheetal talkies Kurla mumbai for 15weeks hits. I like Subhashji directions, he genius and perfect in every situation and scene talking shooting. Dilip Saab ,shammi kapoor ji and above all Sanjeev Kumar ji .all legendary actors of Bollywood industry who made vidhaataa hit film. My all-time favorites scene from this film is iconic cult are at nariyal Chaabdi stall and next one is Abu baba and dilip sahaab discuss in loud voice for Sanjay dutt love for padmini. Music and song was super duper hit.

I saw this movie on 31.12.82 midnight show in Mysore. Very entertaining movie then. Sanjay Dutt was very disappointing. But Sareeka was looking very beautiful and was having lovely body (figure). I thought she would become a super star. Although she won a national award for best actress subsequently, she did not become a super star, mainly due to the personal problems in her life, . Music was good and all acted well. A good enjoyable movie.
Kishore Kumar has sung the title song (background song) picturised partly on Shammi Kapoor in the movie "Jaane Anjaane"

I saw this movie much later, after I was impressed with Dilip Kumar in "Shakti". I liked "Vidhaata" for Dilip Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar and Amrish Puri and the good music by Gujju bhais..
Dillip Kumar and Al Pacino look so much alike that they seem to be 'bachpan mein mele mein bichhde hue bhai.. Their acting style is also very similar. Don't know, who copied who.
There is a scene in "Vidhaata" where all the Dons meet at a meeting. It was straight away lifted from "The Godfather". Not just the scene but some dialogues too.
Overall it was a good entertainer movie.
