Aside from all the jokes, Gura is actually one of the most wholesome, cute and well-accomplished streamers. I really like her even if i don't watch her streams. 10/10.
I showed a video of Gura singing Plastic Love to my friends here in Japan that don't watch her, and almost all of them asked one thing after watching it, "Is she Japanese?" or "Does she speak Japanese?", to which I said no, and the look of amazement on their faces is honestly incredible. To me, it's surprising to know that she doesn't speak Japanese especially after hearing her sing Japanese songs better than most people I know here. Edit: I also showed them Gura singing Sorairo Days and other songs, and after hearing her sing most of them asked who she is and what her channel is, after a few days they've fallen down the V-tuber rabbit hole.

AnimeTubers like Gigguk, VTuber translation and clip channels, memes and Internet stuff introduced me to the VTuber world. Plus, YT algorithm works wonders too. Gura and Ame hooked me in and now imma stay for them all.
Country Roads is a special song to me. I played it when I drove back into my town after years of being away in the military. The feeling of freedom and nostalgia I felt at that moment will stick to me forever. I literally just cried because I wasn't expecting that song to be the first.
That song was my grandfather's favorite and we would listen to it in the car and sing together but now all i can think of when i hear the song is him in his rocking chair before he passed

As someone who sings pretty regularly to myself, I feel super inferior right now. Her ability to flawlessly transition from Japanese and English is outstanding
Lots of practice, my friend. I used to sing in choir and a lot of music we sang was in other languages. Latin most prominently. You may not know the meaning of the words, but you spend a lot of time just working on pronunciation and proper mouth shape when singing. Though, like Japanese, you tend to not sing Latin the same way as you would actually speak it. My point being that if you worked on it for each song, I think you could do it, too!
@@aberrationeech.1838 it happens when you transition from language to language for many years. So my point is that, it takes years to practice it. I can do a very good transition in singing in English, Mandarin, and Japanese and all of these are not even my main language! I was trained to speak multiple languages ever since i was born. But the cons is that, my grammar is bad in any of the languages I spoke. Because there's too much to learn in addition to the other subjects. But Gura is awesome, because she can speak very well in English (I assume that's her main language)

As someone who sings pretty regularly to myself, I feel super inferior right now.
Her ability to flawlessly transition from Japanese and English is outstanding
Lots of practice, my friend. I used to sing in choir and a lot of music we sang was in other languages. Latin most prominently. You may not know the meaning of the words, but you spend a lot of time just working on pronunciation and proper mouth shape when singing. Though, like Japanese, you tend to not sing Latin the same way as you would actually speak it. My point being that if you worked on it for each song, I think you could do it, too!

@@aberrationeech.1838 it happens when you transition from language to language for many years. So my point is that, it takes years to practice it. I can do a very good transition in singing in English, Mandarin, and Japanese and all of these are not even my main language! I was trained to speak multiple languages ever since i was born. But the cons is that, my grammar is bad in any of the languages I spoke. Because there's too much to learn in addition to the other subjects. But Gura is awesome, because she can speak very well in English (I assume that's her main language)
