Player count is SO important as families in my family have multiple children who want to play and several families are often together and want to play. When I get out a game,I often have 6 kids who want to play.
Love the Christmas games lists every year from the Dice Tower. Our family favorite from this list is Captain Flip, highly recommend! Wrath of the Fire Mountain is solid with kids too. I enjoyed Cities, Harmonies and River Valley Glassworks, but none of those made it to my collection this year. I am sure it will be on another list, and if it is not what a tragedy...TRIO should be in everyone's stockings this year and not even kidding (it seemed like this was the first year it was readily available). Grandparents, parents, teenagers and elementary kids can all play this at the same time.
I'm so excited that these lists are starting. Also Harmonies has gone over great with my family and game group. I definitely second that recommendation! Happy holidays everyone!
Great list. I can tell some of those games are language independent but I was wondering if Dice Tower will make a video about strictly language independent games ?
This was a great video and so was the bee board gaming one! Wow that was a crazy and yet cool video! There was a lot of passive aggressive complaining but I definitely cannot blame them for that.
Harmonies is great for families, but it's also great for gamers who want to combo patterns together. Just played on a jumbo version at a local con, so much fun.
Jeez Spots I tested and yes it's a very light game but it drags for soooo long I didn't even want to finish the game, by the end you cannot accumulate several cards anymore so it takes forever unless you have bones or luck... Such a boring game for me. Harmonies is fantastic and takes less time than the abovementioned!
This should be labeled as 12 newer family games for 2024 holidays, or something similar....these are not the best family games. In fact, id be surprised if most of them will be talked about in 5 years...heck even next year most will be forgotten about.
@lotuslove6753 depends on the age of family and group size. But a few that come to mind: Take 5/ 6 Nimt, Quacks of Quedlinburg, Bonanza, So Clover or Codenames, Camel Up, Stella or Dixit or Mysterium. Granted, my family is pretty interactive, love to laugh, and most aren't gamers.
Tom Quote: “we give you some games we think are worth checking out and giving to people for Christmas” It’s not a top 10 list. It’s just a list of games to consider. Nice thing is they’ve done this several years, so you can see past ones if you want another list of options.
To each his/her own. My family loves MLEM. You got me reconsidering getting Monkey Palace as a bday gift for a Lego lover. What didn't you like about these games?
Since when is a “family game”- only 4 players? Haha I have 7 kids and see a major gap in the market for some of these well produced, meat on the bones games that need to play higher counts for us bigger families.
Great to see Spots getting some recognition at last, one of my favourite games.
spots is incredible. i'd be fine with tons of expansions of more dog cards.
Love every review you do!
Love these lists, great format and out nice and early to actually get the Xmas shopping started! 😊

Glad to see these videos coming out again. Also, like Chris Yi's tie, nice.

please, please please include the player count when introducing the game..
MY FAVORITE videos of the year... the Christmas lists. Cant wait to see to other lists.
Big fan of Harmonies, Captain Flip, and River Valley Glassworks.
Great ideas! I'm starting to figure out what to give everyone and appreciate this!
Yeah. It’s started once again! Let’s Gooo!!!
Christmas season is officially underway
0:43 Eddie Izzard approves this video.
Great list.

Here a few my family enjoys Transmissions, Creature Comforts, Coffee Rush
Cities and Harmonies were winners for me this year. I also quite enjoyed my play of Captain Flip.
Wow! Christmas season is already upon us!
A Christmas list of family games without Santa Kaos? Unacceptable! 😜
great picks, added a couple to our wish list thanks
I often buy 2 copies of a game to stretch the player count buy combining them
First time I’ve seen the Christmas list. Well done! It would be useful to include price!
We can't and won't add prices because they fluctuate from place to place and time to time!
Great recommendations!
Been trying to find captain flip but it seems out of stock everywhere! Would love to get glassworks as well.
I love comedy, and I LOVE board games!
Spots is great!
LOVE Cities and Wrath of Fire Mountain! Was disappointed with MLEM.
These really have become a bit of a Christmas tradition for me. Well... November tradition, I guess.
Will there be another list for party games? 🥳
quite a few Phil Walker-Harding games in there....
Wait a minute. Am I suppose to post here or there to be eligible for the contest? OK, I'm going to do both. This counts, right?
Milla's 'Stink, Stank, Stunk' shirt is awesome and I need it
Spots is one of the best fillers to come out in recent years.

The mic on the tie is no good idea it rips against the shirt all the time.
What’s up with district attorney Chris?
Ok, no one here is asking why is Chris dressed so formal?👀

Diplomacy! (May as well lean into what's inevitable anyway)
Too soon! 😂

Chrimbus!
I think that the Dice Tower crew shouldn’t use board game lingo in these Christmas videos.
Yeah, they should use video game jargon

The Title is fine, it doesn't imply they are the best
Yes this feels like pushing new games for the sponsors
Spellbook, mlem or monkey palace are just ok games, l don't understand your selection.

Twilight imperium
Buy two copies
@ that doesn’t work in 98% of games haha
For most people long gone are the days of families that big tho lol The average family size is closer to 4 nowadays.
Roll and write/flip and writes would be great for you!
Too early.
Nah, it's Christmas shopping season for a lot of folks.
The holidays are a lot less stressful if you don't wait until December, only to find out that things are out of stock.
