Nice. I really want to install this Anchor Wizard on my Native Watercraft Slayer Propel 10 MAX kayak. Problem is, I mostly fish deep water (by "deep" I mean over 100 feet, typically around 100 and 120 feet deep) for lake trout and whitefish for which I need close to 200 feet (if not more) anchor line out in the water, but this Anchor Wizard does not look like can hold that much line (it's like more suitable for shallow water only due to limitation on amount of anchor line it can hold and reel in/out). I am wondering if it is possible to replace the anchor line that comes with this Anchor Wizard with some thinner (but strong enough) line, and hence can accommodate much longer (say close to 200 feet) line.... Thank you.
Thank you for the video. Question: Can you rotate the winch mechanism so that the line comes out on the outside of the kayak. It looks like the line coming out of the winch is skewed to the inside of the kayak which requires you to install the pad eyes. Alternatively, if I install it on the left side of the kayak, is the line more of a straight shot to the trolley mechanism.
I don’t think it will make much of a difference. But it does depend on the kayak. On this kayak it will still go over the kayak at some point. It could be a little better though. I still feel the pad eyes keep it nice and neat to the kayak.
@@BassKickingOutdoors Thanks. The pad eyes make sense. On my SS127 I probably will install it next to the seat so the angle to the trolley should be a little better. With the bowing out of the kayak I understand why you needed to do what you did. I'm looking forward to installing it and your video was helpful.
Love the videos. Been super helpful as I've rigged my RS. What's the smallest size track you would recommend for the Wizard to be mounted to? I've thought of mounting to the flat section by the seat.
I have to position my self with that in mind. Either way, position is important if it was in front it would still spin you depending on the wind. Just spin you opposite of what it spins me now.
I have a feel free lure 10 and don’t have access to the back of the hull, how would I install a backing plate, or would I just use self tapping screws?
It is the Yak Attack might mount XL - amzn.to/2EEp79x Yak attack mounting accessories - amzn.to/2XqCVLt I changed from hand ties because they were not strong enough. Hope that helps. Thanks for asking!
The Paramedic Yakker I didn’t show it in this video but at the other end I installed my camera pole. So I have a GoPro looking over my shoulder. If I’m not filming it’s a great place to put my flag. So I feel like it is good utilized space. But great point if your not using the other end.
You may also want to think about the weight distribution of the larger one too. Having a 3-5 lb anchor leveraging on the plastic may not be good for a smaller plate. I did a large and have seen no problems, my friend used a very small plastic yak attack track and it cracked the hull 2nd season it wasi stalled.
I always anchor from the stern because the wind will always be at your back. The kayak will act like a pendulum and swing away from the anchor point. Also when you cast you’re casting away from the anchor and rope. I hope this helps. Cheers

i realize Im kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good place to stream new series online ?
@Eden Ameer Yea, been using flixzone for months myself =)
@Eden Ameer Thank you, signed up and it seems like a nice service :) I really appreciate it !
@Kasen Asa Glad I could help =)
Nucanoe has swivel seats so that, “only facing one way problem is non existent with something like this.” Can’t wait to get one set up on mine
I just got one but I went ahead and installed an anchor trolly as well so I’m not limited to pointing in one direction

@@snookman9920 thanks! Good luck with the install. Your going to love the Anchor wizard for sure!

What weight is the Anchor please?
This is great if the wind is coming from your rear. Useless if it's coming from your front. How do you solve that dilemma?
I have to position my self with that in mind. Either way, position is important if it was in front it would still spin you depending on the wind. Just spin you opposite of what it spins me now.
... turn around? It's not that hard. Common sense
Nucanoe has swivel seats so this is perfect for that!
Great video!
What size Mushroom Anchor did you use on your Anchor Wizard?
I have a feel free lure 10 and don’t have access to the back of the hull, how would I install a backing plate, or would I just use self tapping screws?
With that mount it is not needed. I did cause I had access but you don’t need backing plate
@@BassKickingOutdoors thank you!
You didn’t tell me what kind of brackets and hand ties for mounting the wizard up front. Could you provide that info? Thanks.

I changed from hand ties because they were not strong enough.

Would a smaller track have worked as well? Seems like alot of holes for that long gear trac when you only use like 2 inches of it at the end.

do hand tie screws come with wizard for installing on sport track?
CCGG262 the hand tie screws wouldn’t hold it down. I tried those first. When cranking it up it slipped on the track.
@@BassKickingOutdoors yes, but do they come with purchase?
CCGG262 yes they came with it.
I used the ones that come with it and they were too short. I lost the unit going down the road
Solid vid man! I’m picking up a 117 this weekend and I am stoked
Did you get your Kayak?
Bass Kicking Outdoors yea I did! Today was it’s third trip out and it gets better everytime
Brandon Chambers awesome! That’s exciting! What state are you fishing in?
Bass Kicking Outdoors I’m in north Georgia planning a Florida trip soon though hopefully if all this quarantine stuff chills out lol
What length Geartrac? Thx
It is 12 inches.
Why mount anchor at the rear and not the bow. Please answer my novice kayak fisher dude

Very informative video, thanks for sharing.
