Your channel just popped up. I enjoyed your video BECAUSE it said regular guys. Congrats on your score and you two seem like good buds with no ego. Well done.
Great harvest grass hopper. Maybe now you can start planning your deer / duck adventure in North Carolina. I think we wIll have a good time on the river. Happy hunting and I sure would like to get a cow tag next year.
so I believe I know what gmu this is, and almost exact area you're at. some great country and I have a 4th season bull tag for there this year, great bull!
Congratulations! Nice public land Bull hopefully I will get out that way for an airgun elk hunt in AZ or ID. If you want to try taking a whitetail with an airgun on one of your MO hunts let me know and I can hook you up with the gear.
Thank you. I hope you get to go and make a video of it as well. I see you killed a bear with one, impressive power that Piledriver has. I may hit you for an alternative methods season.
If you're a meat hunter - always get a muley tag..... Mule deer just don't care.!! Haha... Great way to cap off the season ,, Definitely didn't seem cold enough for elk to be in the winter range. Moving up into the cooler area def paid off
@RegularGuysOutdoors haha no worries. I'm just going on my first rifle hunt late October and was wondering what the conditions were like then in the mountains
Late October can be a crap shoot as far as weather goes. The nights will be cold, just a matter of how cold. The days could be mild and sunny.....or it could be quite wintry. The ski resorts open sometimes in October.@@ryanpamperin4439
Tag soup isn’t good, but that is the norm with elk. I have eaten more than a few. Hopefully I have learned something each hunt and get in on them a little more.
Thank you! I shot a 270Win and the load was a factory load that used a Federal Fusion 150 grainer. The diagonal shot is probably why it did not exit, and may have been stopped by the offside shoulder. I should have gone in to retrieve the bullet.
Hey old friend. Video was interesting af. I owe you some music, I know. Me and Luke plan on some fur bearer action. I bought a go pro and what not with you in mind. We get some good footage, I'll send it to you to add to your repertoire. Congratulations!
Hey there! It’s awesome you got your son involved and got him to hang around with you. That’s good stuff. Good luck, I hope you get some good footage. Planning on tanning hides?
Lighter is better in the mountains so long as the gun and you shoot well. Go heavy on bullet weight in the 270 (150grain) with a somewhat sturdy bullet.
Fitness, you cannot be too in-shape. Plan for success, have a strategy for getting it out. A trusted rifle and scope with a sturdy bullet, elk are big. Be prepared for changing and unpredictable weather…the higher up, the more volatile.
Elk can be tough to find, I’d like to find them more consistently, too. But, it sounds like it turned out to be a great deer scouting trip. Hope you draw that tag!

Appreciare the kind words, and hopefully the floodgates open
Awesome! Congrats on a good bull. DIY on public land, nothing more satisfying! Great job!
Thank you very much, DIY on public does make it just a little sweeter.
Very awesome!!! Congratulations! I have never filled an elk tag but this video has me jacked to keep on trying! Great harvest!!
I started with a cold spell, got hot, got cold again and hopefully this kicks off another hot spell. Keep trying and learning, it will happen.

Thank you, it was a long overdue moment for us.
Congratulations on getting it done, finally!
Thank you very much, I’m hoping I learned a little bit in order to get in on them more consistently.

@@RegularGuysOutdoors Your welcome a d again thanks for the tightwad choke a I won a couple years back looking forward to watching more pattern videos
@@budgethuntingoutdoors4941 👍 I intend on doing more patterning and another giveaway, weather/time permitting.
Congrats how many points to draw that tag? I hunt just north of that unit and I drew with 5 points for 2nd rifle and shot my 6x6 2 years ago
I had 3, and had an 80% chance of drawing, 4 was 100%. A 6x6, real nice bull.

In the lower area, we didnt even see any muley does, and we almost always bumped into them. They were obviously staying cool as well.
I don’t think you guys had near enough or bright enough orange on. And all that camo with the orange🥷🏿. Outa staters crack me up 😂.
Always One DOUCHE BAG comment..............................
Great Vid! What unit and dates was this hunt?
Thank you for the compliment but you know I can't give up the fishing hole.

Congratulations, awesome hunt.
Thank you much!
Great job! Better than my big fat 3rd season zero.

Awesome hunt !! Congrats
What rifle caliber & loads did U run ?

Man I'm ready to chase some Elk! I want to do a diy hunt since guides are so expensive.
You may struggle and/or eat tag soup with DIY, but when you finally get it done, it is so much more rewarding.
congratulations by the way
Thank you!
Great job.
Much appreciated, thank you for tuning in.
Hey man great hunt!
Much appreciated, thank you.

@@RegularGuysOutdoors yeah. Trying to get my shop squared away and make room in conex for a tanning room.
im going elk hunting for the 1st time this year was going to take my 7mm rem mag but i might take my 270 its like 4lbs lighter

Me and my dad been wanting to go elk hunting forever think I can finally afford it next year I got so many questions 😂

@@RegularGuysOutdoors what area of the state would you suggest
@@austinburnette9295 not the front range for OTC, it will be packed….a limited tag is best
What caliber is your gun?
Its a 270 and I was shooting a Federal Fusion 150 grain bullet.
Good job
Thank you for watching.
Went 3rd season saw 6 cows all at 500 yards never got a shot and saw 3 5x5 Mule deer and a 6x6 for my next year target
Elk can be tough to find, I’d like to find them more consistently, too. But, it sounds like it turned out to be a great deer scouting trip. Hope you draw that tag!
