Briliant tip...thanks worked a charm with the spade bit
You are a lifesaver! I had no idea about the lightened bolts and could not figure out what I was looking at inside the stock. I'll try your method and hopefully be able to save the bolt. Thanks!
No problem, even in Ian Skennertons great book "A century of Lee Metford and Lee Enfield rifles and carbines" it is only briefly mentioned in text of weight savings, no picture is included so it was kind of a mystery to me until I saw it first hand.
@@zaca952 Got it out! All the spade bits I had were too short so I went to Harbor Freight and picked up a set of hand-held pry bars for around 7 bucks. I heated and straightened the largest one and ground the tip to make it a screw driver of the correct size and it worked perfectly. I still appreciate your video because I had no idea what I was dealing with at first. Yours is the only video explaining this odd type of bolt. Thanks again!
@Bob Brockway glad to hear you got it out, I used a screwdriver extension to get the length I needed,
Thanks ZacA for the drill bit tip !! and i subed ya too

Cool subbed 😎
What would you use to attach that bit to. I cant seem to find anything long enough to even touch the screw.
You can get a 6 inch screwdriver extension that will make it reach
