My son was a washing machine repairer and he told me “ Mum never put laundry powder or liquid in the drawer, always use a dosing ball of laundry powder or liquid in the drum of the machine with the laundry because pretty much 99% of the time that he is called out to repair a machine, the problem is down the back of the machine is clogged with powder or liquid residue that hasn’t dissolved properly and it builds up over time and causes the machine to break down”. I have followed his advice and have never needed to call out a repair man, my last machine worked hard for 20 years without any problems, it simply died of old age!!
@@erce28 My answer is the same as I gave to the other person who replied ……… The washing machine manufacturers will sell more machines, bescause calling out a repair engineer can be costly.
Good tip, I got a funny tip on how to clean washing machine drawers… stop using them ! and use the tablets instead, 😅i thought that was a good one… but in sincerity I stopped using the drawer as it was just another thing to clean and maintain… 😂. But thanks to your comment I’ve learned a little more. A genuine tip I from a plumber was to leave the door open as the door lock and rubber seal are the first to wear out. So I do that too. Like you… my washing machines last a long time, but not as good as 20 years though. 😊.
what the heck... just take the drawer out and soak in sink in hot water.. take your toothbrush with spray cleaner and spray the ducts.. part of your wash routine..
75% of the time I use the dispenser for powders and liquid detergent and never had a problem. Firstly you can remove the drawer for thorough cleaning and often I will flush with warm to hot water to ensure there is no residue left.
@natemcdonald8853. Mmm... but if you don't have one?? We just remove the drawer and soak it in a bowl of soapy water and then rub and rinse. Clean the inside of the drawer compartment as he showed. The trick is to do this frequently, then difficult to remove residue doesn't build up.
White vinegar works wonders. I don’t have a dishwasher and I am not going to trail my washing machine drawer round to friends and family. Personally, for those of us who can’t afford a dishwasher, I though this was a great tip.
@@natemcdonald8853 Well, YOU'RE the one who specified dishwasher, rather than just say "It can be removed for cleaning"...which the guy in the video actually did.
Leaving the dispensing drawer and door slightly open allows the interior of the washing machine to dry out. This also reduces the likelihood of mould forming between the rubber seal and the drum. I also use a washing machine cleaner for a deep clean.
My last machine worked fine for 20+ years and I never cleaned the drawer. Only replaced because it was starting to rust and looked unsightly in the newly renovated the kitchen, but it never stopped working.

If that is true, why do all washing machine manufacturers still make washing machines with drawers?
@erce28 so customers buy another one when it gets glogged up

You are a genius . Thank you
I just take the compartment out and wash it in the sink, no need for all that faffing about
I just use a hand held steamer for the lot.
In some other parts of the world, the detergent is sent down a chute along side the barrel of the washer's drum.
Po co gąbki jak można wyjąć szufladę i umyć ją normalnie?
Or ... remove the tray and throw it in the dishwasher ?

@sambright3719 No NO NO!!! you have to use a dishwasher ! There's got to be family or a friend that has one ! ... geez 🙄

So I had to listen twice, did he like stroke out a couple times or was it a cliche in the matrix?
A cliche? Or a glitch?
You do know the washer drawer pulls out for cleaning, right?
0:56
I think he knows, since it's sitting in his sink.
Obviously he does as he shows in the video how to remove it.
Not mine though. My washing machine is very old, but so what, the laundry comes out clean.
Just take the drawer out and give it a wash!!!!

I don’t have that type of washer.
Neither do I...so what?
Should he not post a video about it, because not everyone has this type of washing machine?
put two sponges in your washing machine drawer... and move them around in a cleaning motion. to clean... genius...
I just don’t care enough. I’m afraid my drawer is beyond help 😂
