This pedal is on my 2nd pedal board and the dynamics and the girth are incredible! You are definitely right about this one. It is well worth the price of admission and also replaces some pedals like it did for me. Great job demonstrating it and doing it justice🤘🏻🎸🤘🏻
This is a great demo imo. Well done! I have the same laney amp, it’s killer. I felt like most of your sounds in this vid are lacking the compression and a tiny bit of sustain that I’m used to from the originals but overall very good likeness and playing too, of course. 👍
@@mustyguitar excellent. I look forward to it. I’m just trying to decide what pedals I should take out and put in. I should really just practice ha ha.
Nice review/demo. But what I wonder is what Whammy or Whammy-style pedal did you use for that excerpt of _Marooned_ at the beginning of the video? That was really smooth and I didn't hear those digital artifacts that seem to emanate from Whammy pedals.
@@cody3078I preferred my Buffalo Fx TDX when I a/b them side by side through my hand wired Bassman and Laney Lionheart. I've since moved on the the Past FX TdY V2 , which I like even more.
They are different types of pedals. I actually can't choose between them. For Gilmour sounds, Hi-Power would probably serve better service but Engine has more room to cover in terms of guitar tones.
@@deanborosane5451 Probably because he's using the amp super clean, getting all his distortion, fuzz and overdrive from pedals, so it's not necessary to use the effects loop. Having everything go into the "front end" of the amp puts all the incoming signal through the amp's tone stack, giving more control over tone than the effects loop.
I have a question, the best way to achieve gilmour tones would be by using a Yamaha RA100? There are a few videos on yt and the sound is exactly the same
best way depends on your situation. There is no best way. Best way would be to have 4 hiwatt heads with RA200 yamaha cabinet and huge huge volumes. But the best way for US would be to imitate the sound in our bedrooms with low wattage tube amps, emulators like rt-20 or dawner prince pulse or something like that.
they are different types of pedals. you're comparing (kind of) a fuzz with an overdrive. I actually can't choose between them because they are both insanely good. But, I'm gonna use the Hi-Power for 70's tones and The Engine for all other overdrive tones for Gilmour.
Run the Engine in front of the Hi-Power sans big muff? I mean I have a original Rams Head big muff but it has some issues....Can the Engine replace the Big Muff?

I've seen your videos and by them can be said that you always advise new pedals. Could you propose - definitely - the right set of pedals because otherwise seems that you are promoting pedals instead of giving precious informations and advises for Gilmour sound!
I don’t “advise” new pedals. I’m just showing that with “those” pedals, you can get great tones. I don’t encourage to buy new pedals. It’s up to you to get it or not Antonio. There are thousands of people with these pedals and they want to get Gilmour tones. I’m just the messenger. With that being said, I’ll do a definitive pedalboard video in the near future
Your mixes are always too trebly , perhaps from the coiled headphones you have. It maybe sounds right for you but it's weird for me at least (HD 599s out of Focusrite Solo Mk3)
you might me right dude. it sounds good in my head but I'm not professional. I just share what I like. I don't know mix or anything too, straight out of DAW and into the final cut pro x to edit the video. How can I make it better?
Why are you so fussy, it’s a RUclips demo. Everyone is going to hear the sound differently. I for one listen through my hearing aids because of age related deterioration. In fact different ears hear different things because of differing loses. You sound like Waters telling Gilmour the same thing. Gilmour ignored him and carried on. Just enjoy the music and listen to the important bit, how to start setting up the sound. I for one find it invaluable.
@@classicraceruk1337 It was just some constructive criticism from one gilmour autist to another. I spend hours every day tweaking and my setup to dial in the perfect tone and I just let him know what I'd change if I was him.

It’s a Marshall in a box on the left and a great boost on the right
