On piano it sounds like it could be the theme for an 80's slasher film.
Haha first 3 seconds into the video and Halloween came to my mind. It's like Yamaoka met Carpenter to do a collab theme lol
It's strange how well this fits the book I'm writing right now. It's fast-paced, creepy and has this feeling of near-desperation about it, but at the same time there's a terrible sadness, loneliness and anger underneath that. Fits the killer very well. Especially because he attacks people mainly at night, when they are alone in the dark in their own homes, and finds an interesting way and fitting time for each one to die.
Somehow you always have the best songs to write to. :)
Hi, sorry if I bother. I agree with your opinion. What you explained about the book you are writing sounds interesting. I like that but I've never written a complete book.
Thank you! I haven't finished a book yet either, to be honest. I've gotten a couple stories done and I have several more and a few books in the works, but I'm definitely hoping to make it my career. The book I'm writing now (the same one I described above) is more or less two fifths of the way done, and I'm really enjoying writing it. I hope to make writing my career. It's the only thing that I can say without doubt that I have any real ability in, and one of the few things I sincerely enjoy.
Do you write much? :)
Hi, wow, I didn't really expect a reply because your comment was posted a month ago. Well, thank you for replying. You know I do like writing but unfortunately I started getting quite interested about writing a bit late, anyway I have been working on writings til this day, but with patience. I like to know that people develop that talent, I think that being able to create something is just fascinating, I encourage you to never stop if that's what you truly feel passion for. By the way, I would like to know some more about what you have written. I just love that kind of things. Have a nice day. ;)
LONG POST WARNING

I find writing fascinating too. There is so much that goes into every sentence, every word, and it's strange in that it's so simultaneously easy and hard. It's more like having a true story dictated to you than making one up, but there are times when you don't know how to tell the story being whispered in your ear. It's both natural and unnatural. For example, I've actually found myself arguing with my characters and plotline because they didn't want to get developed or go in an intelligent direction. In the case of the first book I ever tried to write, it was actually a good idea to listen to the character, because it turned out that she was dragging down the whole plot and should have been shown the door immediately after being introduced. I wound up cutting her and I'm in the process of introducing someone new. Writing is definitely strange, and it does cruel and unusual things to the writer.
The book I'm working on right now is actually sitting right next to me right now, LOL. Basically, I was inspired by the better slashers of the 1970's and 80's, especially the first Halloween (I watched it four times in the first three days I had it - horror nut here!) and by the idea of an intelligent, quiet, stealthy and utterly human antagonist as opposed to the generic ghosts, demons, and chainsaw wielding maniacs we usually have thrown at us in horror. I think Michael Myers was really underappreciated in the subtler ways that he was scary; in his prowling walk while he was stalking someone, with his posture always angled toward his target, the way he planned his attacks, lured people into a false sense of security, set traps for his victims, and the way that you could see him thinking and planning but you couldn't know exactly what was going through his head. I decided to put my own spin on a slasher and work a bit more subtle creepiness and mystery into the genre, as well as focusing more on the predatory side of humanity within it. I took that and ran with it.
The basic summary of my story is that there is a family living in a small
(fictional) country town that is dying a slow, hard economic death. While the family is better off than most, they still are trapped by the burdens of debt and unable to move to a better place to finish raising their five children. Not only that, but with two children attending a nearby college, one in need of going, one in high school and another in kindergarten, not to mention their elderly grandmother across the street in need of care, they are forced to stay. On the bright side, they are more well-off than their neighbors, the parents being tenured, highly-respected professors at the nearby university, and have a nice house in the better part of the town (if the one most often abandoned once the illusion of the cozy small town wears off), a yearly trip to a carnival and even a backyard pool, the epitome of success in Leroy, Kentucky. The family goes into shock after the grandmother is murdered, her killer allowing himself to be glimpsed by her daughter-in-law before disappearing into the woods without a trace. The night of the grandmother's funeral, the house is broken into by an opportunistic burglar who is chased away quickly, but later found meticulously mutilated by a careful hand and left to bleed to death in the freezing rain as if to send a message. The parents' suspicions are confirmed when the aunt and uncle of the family, in town to claim their share of their mother's belongings, are murdered and the father encounters the murderer leaving the house: he's the son that they had when they were sixteen. Being young and with a long history of being emotionally abused by both of their families, they were unsure of themselves, unsure in their parenting, and the boy's unstable temper and unnervingly precocious mental state (inherited from his grandfather and uncle) made it easier for the grandmother - cold, abusive, and jealous of her own grandson - to guilt, intimidate and manipulate his young parents into abandoning the boy, then only five, at the end of a long gravel road that leads to nowhere rather than taking him to a behavioral specialist or the like. He was found by a young couple shortly after, but supposedly died not even a week after being found, leaving his biological parents to writhe in guilt for over twenty years.
He continues to stalk and attack the family over the course of a year, driving them into near-psychotic paranoia and forcing them to hide inside their own home and get police protection.
This is one of the most messed-up stories I have ever written, and the biggest struggle so far is to balance empathy and sympathy in the killer. I want him to be in-pain, emotional and human enough where it will be clear that it is a PERSON doing these awful things, but not human to the point where the reader will feel bad for him. After all, we don't need any more violence porn, and I have to make it clear that what he's doing is wrong, rather than understandable revenge that every abandoned child grown-up should indulge in. It's tough to balance, but interesting. I love writing it, and it's coming along easier than my other stories have.
Hi, wow. That was long! Hehe, but I liked to read it. I liked the way you handled disgrace and human misery to create such a horrific but adecuate substance for a story. I definitely want to read the whole book someday. There is an original point about making the reader have full awareness of the killer's identity, which most times tends to drive the readers to excitement and intrigue when they try to figure that out. But you have explained it quite well. Do you have WhatsApp? May we talk about this kind of things a bit more? I just love it. And you know, I started writing some stories but I haven't finished anything and I feel like getting stuck often although I constantly think about them. Oh by the way thanks for replying and taking the time for typing and sharing that with me.
Good job on interpretating this song man! It's one of my favorites, with that odd feeling all around it. Never thought it would work like this, but it does! *thumb-up*

If i type "WOW" in caps... it would be considered as an understatement on how AWESOME this cover is? Love it.
Amazingly recreated on piano! My favourite haunting theme that is perfect to convey sense of horror for unknown.
I've come back to this song over and over again. You've done an absolutely fantastic job and I love it. Subscribed!
That was pretty good... Oh god u are a very well pianist, no I mean an EXCELLENT pianist
Awesome cover, one of my fav SH1 songs. Pretty niche cover too. People usually cover the obvious songs.
The way you covered it on piano almost makes it sound like the Halloween theme, i wonder if there was some inspiration from Halloween in the original composition.
Fear of the Dark is the remix on the official SH1 OST.
The actual real name of the in-game track is called " *Trinkets, Green Lion Antiques* "
Wow!! I can't believe it's the 16th already and 7th SH cover! Awesome!! Still a long way to go I know but you're doing great!! Keep it up!! :)
Ah thanks so much froggy, glad to see you still watching my videos, especially my Silent Hill Covers! I know, I've uploaded so many horror covers since "The Ring / Samara's Song" and that I've uploaded my 7th SH piece :O Well, I already know my next Silent Hill piece which is going to be called "CLAWFINGER" :D That will be uploaded in January 2014 using my NEW PIANO!
WOW. I very much enjoyed this theme.... And I normally don't care much for SH themes.
Great choice for a cover!
Thanks for listening! It's very strange that you say that, the Silent Hill soundtracks are my favourites in video game terms :) but I appreciate you enjoying this cover :D
:)
Hey Liam! I was listening to this while writing and I just thought I should send an update your way about the book I'm working on. The first draft is done, as you know (finished to Clawfinger), but I'm still polishing, adding, and revising here and there, and I think it's getting really close to all the way done. It won't be long until it's polished enough to be sent out to some publishers; probably a month or so. I'll let you know if and when it's fully done and accepted anywhere, and hopefully I'll be able to send you a free copy. :)
Hey Sydney! Thanks for the update. That is so awesome to hear, I'm really happy for you that you have made it this far to completing your first draft! Hope you get round to everything and it all works out for you, definitely deserve it :) Hahaha I would be more than honoured to receive a 'free copy' honestly ^_^
