Hi. Your videos are very informative and great for learning, thanks. I just watched an old one of yours on restoring dead AGM batteries. I have 2 deep cycle agm’s I want to try it on. Can I use a heavy duty car battery as the in-between or should it also be a deep cycle one? Thanks in advance.
So I guess the interference fit alone between the race and the shaft is enough to work as a seal between those parts? Anyways, it's a clever design to have that race there as a replaceable part instead of having to change the shaft if it gets worn down over time.
Hi Kent. Are the two studs in the block used for the oil pan front seal bore alignment? I hope so because I didn't think about that when installing the oil pan. I installed a new race and seal when I rebuilt the engine, But the seal leaks. I wonder if the pan is aligned.
The most common reasons for a new seal leaking is during installation the spring on the back side of the seal pops off or the lip of the seal rolls over on the race.

Any GOOD 12V car battery will work.
