Ever since I watched this video I've been looking EVERYWHERE for these specific affirmations where it's like.. comforting you about reaching out to others and being kind to others, because as someone with social anxiety, I find it really hard to compliment/smile at people or do other considerate things even though I really want to, because I have irrational thoughts that I will be judged for it. Wow okay, only 10 minutes in and it feels directly targeted at me. All the little affirmations were just specific enough and different from other videos that i've seen, to connect with me. Things like 'It's okay to smile, it's not creepy', 'you can give other people compliments', 'smile when you're happy', 'say hi to people you like', among several other things that were said. I greatly struggle with self image, and proper conversation. So often that I speak to people, and later realize how dumb i sounded in the moment, or that I feel i was taking up their time; only to remember that they came to talk to me first. They wanted to talk. I'm allowed to be brave and say hello, or compliment the odd passerby or coworker. Even if it's scary, most times people are happy afterwards. It's okay to be brave.
