Yea, early season rankings are generally made up of brand recognition, and last year's results; those mean nothing this year tbh. You need to look at the resume as the season is today; A team that was ranked top 10 at the beginning of the year, but at the end is 6-6 really wasn't a top 10 caliber win, so a team who played them at the beginning of the season shouldn't get credit for a top 10 win at the end of the season, makes no sense. Agree on ND, the SEC being a gauntlet, disagree only for this reason. I think the SEC is having a down year with their typical top teams & everyone is beating each other cause they're average teams. I think the same could be said for the other conferences. LSU is not a top 25 team, Vandy is not as good as most think. The SEC should get 4 teams in cause they're a good conference, just not as good as they have been in the past. I think we'll see that this year and years to come w the 12 team playoffs, cause the wait between regular season and playoffs will be shorter
Texas beat a ranked Michigan (at that time) and ranked Oklahoma (at the time). They beat Vandy that beat Alabama that beat Georgia. BYU, Indiana, and Penn State would get pulverized by the Longhorns. I love Bruce but he's way off on his assessment.
I think there is a strong argument to be made there is a higher probability that South Carolina fires Beamer to hire Cignetti than trashing Indiana. I don't know if he stays at Indiana long, but he is for real.
Why? BYU has the number 2 strength of record OVERALL. They aren't the cupcake team that people think they are. You need not look any farther than their resume for evidence of this.
Do you know how old Cignetti is? I seriously doubt he will go anywhere. I will be shocked if South Carolina fires Beamer. South Carolina is not that bad.
Does that guy know that if Aggies when the rest of their games and beat TU, they will only have 1 SEC loss so YES they will go to SEC Championship DUHHHHH
I’m a Texas alumn and lifetime fan, and even I don’t think the Longhorns are anywhere near being the 3rd best team in the country. Ewers has many fundamental flaws, is very one-dimensional, and plays tentatively. The O line is mediocre. Special teams are not very good. And the entire team plays sloppy with way too many stupid penalties. They will lose to A&M, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Arkansas beats them this weekend. I’ve watched every Texas snap for decades. Sadly, this year’s squad is just not that good, other than the defense, which has outplayed pre-season expectations thus far.
How slow the Texas offense starts in almost every game, I am surprised they didn't lose more games. Florida could have beaten Texas if they didn't have a lot of injuries.
@vtaylor21 because they have the #1 defense in the country. If the offense doesn't play well, as long as they don't turn the ball over on a short field, the defense will win the game for them. They lost to georgia because they couldn't stop turning the ball over in their own end. Georgia struggled to move the ball on Texas. They had under 300 yards of offense.
So Indiana doesn't have flaws? Penn St? BYU? Georgia? Texas is the only tean with flaws? What are you even trying to argue here lmao. Look around the country. You can make these same arrangements for 9 of the top 10 teams it doesn't just apply to one school. And if you think Texas has a bad special teams and O line I'd love for you to evaluate the other teams in both those areas. Hint: nobody is excelling at all those areas either

Sorry beating the reigning national champions, who were ranked #10 in week 2, isn't impressive to you. It is to the CFP committee, so who cares what @InitiallyJayKay thinks?
Can't wait until this is over 😩, so when we look back at all the trash teams that make this playoff get dawg walked and the teams that deserves to be in by playing a strong schedule are complaining 😒, it's really the same thing we've been doing every year smh ,i digress 💯
is a&m wins, they get into the sec championship.
What if... BYU loses to Colorado, SMU beats Miami, Ohio St wins out & Penn St & Indiana only has 1 loss. Navy beat ND and is undefeated, Boise St wins out,
Texas loses to Texas A& M Tennessee loses 2nd to Georgia. Who's in? ha!
Navy already has 2 losses. I assume you mean Army.
Conference and college FB bias is this guy is talking. that is his premise.
There is no “at large,” Rich.
EMBRACE THE HATE!!!🤠🤘🏼
Let's just say Ohio State loses to Indiana... Sure Ohio State stay in with only a win over Penn State and a close loss to Oregon?
How is Colorado not ranked number 1
inconceivable
.....lol
Hookem Horns 🤘
Not wanting undefeated Army in the new CFP is tantamount to treason! 🤣
So by the logic I’m hearing here, Big 10 gets 4, SEC gets 5, Big 12 and ACC each get 1 and then the Group of 5 school? I don’t think this was what was foreseen.
The SEC is literally beating the hell out of each other. The top 6 or so teams could beat any other team in the country
LOL
Yeah no
Um, I think you've been drinking too much SEC kool-aid.
The bias makes you think that, the top 6 in the SEC wouldn't beat Oregon or OSU
@@joeresch8772 lol
Dude wishes he went to Texas I guess lmao
Why can't Army and Boise State get in?
Because it is ultimately a TV product and there are bigger attractions
That dude is a Texas hater….
He's only telling the truth. Texas has 1 win over a power 5 team with a winning record. Why on earth are they ranked so high? How are they ahead of an 8-1 Tennessee who has beaten Bama. Are we really putting more emphasis on how good or bad of a loss a team has over who they actually beat and strength of schedule. I mean really????? You tell me.
Feldman is an idiot. The committee bases ranked wins on whether the team was ranked when they played them. Not if they're currently ranked. Texas has 3 top 25 wins as far as the committee is concerned.
Ranked win week 2 shouldn't matter if that "ranked" team is now .500 ten weeks in
@@InitiallyJayKay Stupid take. The committee doesn't agree with you. They make the rankings, not internet trolls.
Copium.
@@Klugg-mo7fmHow is that a stupid take? Should teams really be flexing that they beat a “ranked” 1-9 FSU? There’s a limitation to how big of a deal these “ranked wins” are.

Notre Dame should not be in the playoffs.. the toughest opponent they played is A&M who isn’t even a top 5 SEC team.. and then who they play? USC, Navy, and Army.. a bad team and 2 teams who don’t throw the football and don’t play top teams in the nation.. but ND has a loss to a team they were 28 point favorites against. Georgia lost to 2 SEC teams who are both top 12 in the nation and they have to play a gauntlet of the SEC.. same goes for Penn state they’ll probably make it and not play anyone all year except Ohio state who they can never beat but make it.. the best 12 teams in the country will not make the playoffs and there will be a few who make it who aren’t that good and should not be there.
Notre Dame should not be in the playoffs.
Put BYU, Indiana, or Penn State in the SEC and they each have at least 3 losses.
BYU, Indiana and Miami would all get trashed by South Carolina. Meanwhile Feldman "is Texas actually good?". what a weird convo.
I think there is a strong argument to be made there is a higher probability that South Carolina fires Beamer to hire Cignetti than trashing Indiana. I don't know if he stays at Indiana long, but he is for real.
South carolia is not trashing Indiana
@@clumsysmurf8109IU is already working on his extension, would be surprised if he leaves at this point
Does that guy know that if Aggies when the rest of their games and beat TU, they will only have 1 SEC loss so YES they will go to SEC Championship DUHHHHH
The Texas copium in this chat...
Ewer’s is inconsistent. But he is amazing at times. If he plays to potential Texas will be A&M by two touchdowns. If not, it’s hard to know.
@@vtaylor21lmao what? Florida got dog walked by Miami fully healthy. They were down 42-0 in this game and all the starters came out. But now it was just a dew injuries that changes the game? 😂😂😂
People need to think that maybe the SEC just isnt that good. Alabama is not a powerhouse, georgia is not a powerhouse, ole miss is not a powerhouse and texas looks very beatable. Sick of the SEC bias when all they do is beat each other and then claim those as good wins. Id take the top 4 teams in the B10 over the top 4 in rhe SEC easily.
Just like last year,
Alabama had no business being in the playoffs, but ESpn was not gonna have that
@@lordrayden3045Alabama was the SEC champion that just beat the number 1 ranked team in the country. They went into the playoffs with a 12-1 record. If you hate Alabama just type the words…..there was no argument against them being in the playoffs last year.
@
And the undefeated team deserved to be there
Sorry they lost
Alabama had no reason to be there other then ESPN demanded it and nick saban was crying and bitching
The National Champions over the last what 10yrs or more would call you a liar
@
That’s not this year
Or last year
Byu beat Kansas st and smu and I careless if they are ranked still not amazing wins to be 6th.
