Did you ever notice how parts of Mexico's countryside remind you of parts of Espana or Turkey? That's how I felt when I 1st. visited the country's "colonial heartland", like Guadalajara, Guanajuato, & Morelia. I often wondered if the early Spanish explorers had the same feeling when they 1st. traveled through the country.

Yes, the arid weather makes for a landscape akin to the one in the Mediterranean region. However the climate, and especially the temperature range, is very different to the one of southern European countries.

I guess the speed bumps allow drivers to get more cautious on the road, see the shops available to them more easily and protect the pedestrians, but this many is kinda overkill. Especially at Ixmiquilpan, which should build a bypass and pedestrianize the narrow street, it'll be better for the city folks who're stuck with exhaust air when the streets are clogged.

I think the city or the state would immediately build a decent bypass if they had the funds to do so. Remember Mexico has *very* good roads for a country with such a GDP.
