    Great video Sagar! Would you mind making a similar one about finding software engineering internship specifically for those from non-CS background? Cheers mate

    Another good informative video, again pretty spot on. I would add a few things to consider if I may too.
    When it comes to internships in my experience, be open minded. Big companies are of course great, and look great on a CV too, but the reality in my experience is that during the actual internship, you may end up sort of observing rather than actually contributing, depending on which type of department you end up in. Smaller companies, though they won't have the same kind of brand clout as bigger ones, are more likely to give interns interesting tasks.
    Secondly, while I agree that LinkedIn is a great place to network, if you approach someone out of the blue, be prepared to be ignored. Unless I get a message which specifically asks about internships from the get go, I will just assume the person contacting me out of the blue is acting on nefarious intent, and I'll block them.
    Finally, to add my personal perspective, I only take on interns when I have the time to do so. I always like to structure internships in a way that is both valuable to the intern and to the company. Since interns are usually undergrads or even still in school or 6th form, they aren't yet skilled enough to take on more complex tasks, and that means I have to spend time creating useful work. Time is unfortunately at a bit of a premium these days. But if the right person comes along, I'll certainly consider them, and with me personally, there is no need to go through official channels, since if I have the time, I can simply contact the relevant department and submit the details for the internship. I've done this in the past with enthusiastic students.

      I am a final year student studying mechanical engineering in India, I am planning to do my masters in aerospace engineering from Cranfield University next year. I wanted to know about the job market for foreign nationals in uk after masters. Do aerospace companies offer visa sponsored jobs to foreign nationals?

    • @onetrickhorse
      @onetrickhorse 2 года назад +1

      @@astronomerscave9631 well, I can tell you Cranfield is an amazing university, I did my PhD there, and their industry partnerships alone are worth studying there for. As for the job market for foreign nationals, it's strong quite honestly, provided you can get a visa, which requires sponsorship by a company, a job offer etc. You won't be able to work jobs that require security clearance though, so options may be limited to civil aerospace. My advice would be to try and get an internship while studying, or do a masters project with an industry partner. These are relatively common at Cranfield, just speak to your supervisor/co-ordinators.

    Hi Sagar😄 this was a very informative video. I do have a question though, what about international students (Africa)that want to work in the UK as Aerospace Engineers?

    • @SA64R
      @SA64R  Год назад +2

      Civil aerospace is your best bet since it won't require security clearance like you would if you wanted to work in defence.

    Hi Sagar, I would like to know at what point during your Aerospace Engineering degree did you decide to pursue software engineering, and what you did to stand out from people with Computer Science degrees.

    • @SA64R
      @SA64R  2 года назад +2

      Probably in my final year whilst doing my dissertation, because I chose my own dissertation which was on the most exciting topic in my opinion but I really disliked the actual work I had to do and I knew this would be my day to day as an aerospace engineer. I knew I liked coding as I used to code stuff from time to time out of fun. I guess, CS studies doesn't actually set you up as good as people say if a non-CS can self learn and get into software engineering roles. I did work on my own projects ever since I was in secondary school, so I guess my knowledge just compounded.

    Hi Sagar! Thanks for the great and informative video.
    Though I have question if you have idea about it.
    Is it possible if you studied aerospace engineering outside U.K and can get intership at companies in U.K without going through security clearance checks?
    Would love your reply and Thanks!

I guess you can do this✊💪 because, you are a aerospace engineering graduate and you are you'll be more professional in selecting a good university in india for aerospace engineering (OTHER THAN IIT INSTITUTES ). by the way I'm soo curious to know WHAT DOES '64' MEAN IN "SA64R". i guess you will know me if ypou notice in last video comments.

      Just listen to what your heart says and go for it if it is engineering then its physics,maths and chemistry if you want a fourth subject then further maths or computer science would be great
