It’s important to understand that inflation is another form of taxation. It would not exist if the government did not borrow from the Fed, which is authorized to “print” new money out of nothing for that purpose. If it were to pay back that debt, it would effectively be removing money out of circulation leading to a potentially catastrophic deflationary economic disruption. The government causes problems, then causes more problems to try to curtail the ones it already caused. It takes, and takes, and takes, all in the name of “playing God” to us helpless citizens. That is what we are protecting ourselves against.
