It's time to end the "no pain, no gain" myth. It shouldn't be a painful process at all! Most of our students achieve the splits within 3-4 months with nothing but positive encouragement and frequent stretching challenges in a progressive routine. This type of outdated flexibility training is unnecessary, dangerous, and simply not the best way to reach the goal of the splits.

I don't think it's necessary to suffer and split perforce the legs when they can perfectly have the same flexibility by training for a long period of time without almost breaking the tendons and ligaments, maybe it's unhealthy for the body doing it like that :(
I'm trying to do splits since 6 months, as I learned with my body that the splits are accumulative progress, means that I can gain more flexibility gradually every time I start my session, but I'm sure 100% you can't do splits forcibly, time is a key here.
Goodness seeing this video brought back memories from my karate class where my senpai used to force us all to hold the splits like this, he would actually make another student stand on our legs when we were doing the butterfly sit to make the knees touch the ground and oof dear god I can still feel the phantom pain, and this was like 6 years ago💀. When I told my mum about this cos she noticed I couldn't even walk or sit without taking a break, she was absolutely horrified. My mum was a sportsperson too, and she didn't raise my brother and I to be pain intolerant or run away from harsh circumstances, and she was all for pushing the boundaries. Even she found this teaching bad and took it up with the master to stop forcing the kids like this. There's a difference between testing the limits and putting someone in potential danger. I wanna say that while this method could be beneficial in the long run, it's not exactly healthy. While the teachers have experience teaching students like this, everyone's body is different and forcing children to learn these splits this way is totally wrong, and it will only put them off from trying to practice the splits on their own. One wrong move, one extended second and you could have probably dislocated or broken their hip bones, or forceful strain on their muscles when they've not gradually prepared for it can even tear it and potentially cause lifelong damage. Also, I think the general Asian culture of "we faced this pain so our juniors have to face it too because they shouldn't be having it easy" has to stop, its nasty and inhuman. (I'm Indian so I'm kinda speaking from experience and observation.) When I trained to do the splits on my own, a little every day, I did a full split within three months, rather than when I was in Karate class and training to do so for 4 years💀. So stay safe and please proceed with caution. It will also help if you researched what areas of the body you use for different splits, so you can be wary of the potential damage you could cause to them and push your limits accordingly.

I lived in mainland China for years, they train really intense which could not be tolerated in the USA. But when some of them grow up, they are unstoppable
Flexibility takes time and works to achieve, and there are as many types of flexibility as there are muscles and joints in the body. You can be Gumby in one direction and still be C3PO in another. In order to improve your flexibility, you need to stretch more frequently than the stretching done in your martial arts class. You need to stretch every day and try to stretch at least twice per day. However, be aware that any improvement in flexibility as an adult will be slow. Nevertheless, if you keep stretching, you should see gradual but solid improvement over time.
Actually I am karate black belt and i have been doing this splits since i was 5 years old because my father is a karate master.....He never made me or his students do or train to do splits like this....He is taking classes for about 500 students and all the students does this in just 2 months....But he never made them do like this.....And every day we used to practice so every time we could see the improvement...
Haha this brings back memories. When i was 7 practicing tkd in seoul i went through exactly the same thing. I was crying like a biatch 😂. But that shit really works tho lol.
Okay, So as I'm not a Very professional Player in Taekwondo, I just learn karate. But ever since i had entered the class, NO STRETCHING were done like this forcibly. Our teachers just used to hold our hands and make it as simple as they can for us. They never forcibly made us stretch. It is a Little painful but you gotta improve day by day. If you do it forcefully, I guarantee you'll end up breaking your leg. Now, Especially if you're not that flexible And kinda healthy, Please do the warm up, And then properly try relieving your muscles, after that if you FEEL comfortable to do it, Try. Keep trying. If you fail, Do knee up jump, It doesn't matters. And trust me, One day you'll end up doing it perfectly:)), And if you're Doing it forcibly, You won't be able to do the main thing, Your moves. Once i forcibly did it, And trust me, My legs were paining like I'm in hell. I wasn't able to do anything for a while and it felt so painful that i felt like falling down at any time. Luckily, I managed to do it smh.
I don't fell bad for her, Infact I envy her, for having the strength to endure this pain for flexibility and speed. This takes dedication, to work past the strains. She cries because that is weakness leaving the body. She will come out with benefit of being abled to kick harder, faster and further away then she previously could.
I'm actually a teakwondo and i'm used to that cuz we do that every time. And i always feel the pain but we have to take it. Now i'm a BLUE BELTER TEAKWONDO!!
Or you could just stretch regularly work your way up to this. That would actually be worth it. You would gain flexibility naturally and won't risk doing serious damage to muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, etc.
I have no information of this . But being a Physical therapist I can add that if aim is to achieve muscle range than we can achieve this by daily basis stretching sessions it's not ok to achieve it at once
If that was me the moment I would be doing the splits forcefully I would regret every second but after that I would not regret one thing about it because it is over with and have gotten a improvement in my body
I’ve been doing Taekwondo for 1 years, and was able to do the split by myself gradually before I did Taekwondo, I just want to say, different Taekwondo gyms have different exercise, forcing a split is okay, as long as you’re not as old as 14-15 because, the kid is still developing, and they have more bones than older people, meaning they’re more flexible than older people, it’s torture, but trust me, it’s for the good, forcing an Adult is gonna make them injured more than the kids.

오늘은 태권도 수련 첫날인데 이 영상을 보고 영상에서 본 것 때문에 생각이 확 바뀌었어요 😖
My legs were already split before I joined.. But I act there as if my legs weren't split and did fake cry 💀
you sick bro 😂 but not really.. your leg may be splitting easily and that will spoil your acting. For the "first-timer" split, your calf and joints and muscle leg should be stif😂 anywayzz, I've done this fake pain too.
Lol
I don't see the point on why'd you do that, maybe they held back because you fake cried so you got like no additional stretching to further your ability to stretch; real wasted time man...
OMG I know that pain too...
when I was in gymnastics class... my first perfect split was like I was giving birth!!
@dumb student yeah...I noticed that the males actually wanted to cry. and I was about to laugh at them.but I was able to hold it.haha!
@@imboredmakecoronaend6668 Why to laugh at them, do you think yourself as better than them or what
@dumb student ooo hi yha bhi mulakat ho gaya Modi ke hater se 😂🤣🤣
For how many days do we have to do this to get that split?
Stop over exaggerating
When I started I used hold the split for about 15 minutes and holy crap it was hell. My mind was saying to give up but I kept pushing the limits and after few months I was kicking high above my head and could jump kick 7 ft even though I was 5'3
Wooooow great 👍🏻
Instead you could have gotten there gradually instead of feeling pain. Time is key
Bro, that is X-treme, but I'm glad you made it! Congrats 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I am a taekwondo and I know how much pain and how its is 😭
True. Im forced to split when i was a white belt lol
aww should i join taekwando ....its looks pretty scary..
NO PAIN NO GAIN👍but its pretty hurtfull when i was white belt😂
I am Also... Because my dad is a Taekwondo master...and he forced me to join Taekwondo...😨
Me too😔
In ballet class my teacher pulled me into a middle split. It was more of a surprise than pain and it helped me not be scared in pushing myself with it.😅
i've been through this and i can feel the pain 😔😔
From 1-100 how did you feel
@@kimberlyrivera133 75% pain
I feel bad for you when you did that
😭
Same it felt like i was gonna rip apart in to two
😢❤The most difficult thing is to open the basin. May God help those who train Taekwondo. So far, I have been practicing it, but it is not a hobby.
I remember doing teakwondo with my friend years ago and we were doing splits. We had substitute master and he had time for us to stop doing the split.
My friend was talking to me saying "My legs are going to split apart"
Sensei heard her and said "Good, you can take it with your bag" and the bag was our changing bag. I laughed.
I’m a gymnast and I know this feeling because I’m trying to get my splits and it does hurt. Why are they doing this to them:(
I wanted to try gymnasts but seeing this comment made me say NOPE IM NOT SINGING UP
For higher kicks
@jorge valencia good tell those persons ... And the another one is laughing... 😠😠😠
@@sumanchoudhary653 THAT IS TAEKWONDO YOU IDIOT
If you don't know anything then just shut the f up..
To kick higher, no pain no gain
i don't really do Taekwondoe, but i believe that yeah pain can be a lubricant to success, but an involuntary one can be a lubricant to trauma
Our country 🇮🇳 does not have much medals on Olympics but now iam happy very much on seeing this because the medals u got r not for skill just for your torches.
I can see any interest on their face leave them .
One day she will becomes a legend
The exact same situation happened to me... I was screaming and crying but my coach didn't let me go... He motivated me the whole way whispering that "you can do this da... Going to end... Endure a few more seconds" like that 😫😩
Ya it kinda looks bad but kids cry a lot. Kids cry even when it's a little difficult. There's a limit of course.
I don't think training children like this will make them appreciate taekwondo. You basically hurt them.
my Taekwondo class was actuall really fun
our coach never forced us to go that harsh on us
and by the time we were able to do splits naturally
I think with patience and practice you can do it without someone forcefully making you flexible, don't know how it will damage your body in long run

She needs a physio now. Sending her love 💕
I learn taekwondo cuz its my fav sport and when this happened lol i cried a lil bit but then it just became normal by itself
Now I decided to buy a gun to protect myself☠️
I remember when i was in my early teens we used to do this exactly as it’s showing in my karate class lol it was painful but bearable :)
It depends on everyone's level of flexibility. It's not "painful but bearable" for everyone. This shouldn't be done at all
It was happened to me few days ago it's soo painful I can't even walk properly
I remember learning teakwood o like this now I am flexible and can split normally. It really helps
Giving me nostalgia of my training years 🥋
Actually I am karate black belt and i have been doing this splits since i was 5 years old because my father is a karate master.....He never made me or his students do or train to do splits like this....He is taking classes for about 500 students and all the students does this in just 2 months....But he never made them do like this.....And every day we used to practice so every time we could see the improvement...
Haha this brings back memories. When i was 7 practicing tkd in seoul i went through exactly the same thing. I was crying like a biatch 😂. But that shit really works tho lol.
You do not need to stretch like that, I stretched normally by my self and I got my middle split in one Hearn and a half.
Sameee l
When you practice really hard to fight but you just killed by a gun
Very good massage brother
Epic 👏 👏 👏
Dude i know what it feels likeeee ghadd rememberingg those days 😭😭
I feel bad for that girl, man😪
Dont
One of the famous taekwondo fighters got their flexible kicking skills through this
I don't fell bad for her, Infact I envy her, for having the strength to endure this pain for flexibility and speed. This takes dedication, to work past the strains. She cries because that is weakness leaving the body. She will come out with benefit of being abled to kick harder, faster and further away then she previously could.
Don't feel bad about this girl, it only hurts beginners training but after she's gets better
That is for she s good
I'm actually a teakwondo and i'm used to that cuz we do that every time. And i always feel the pain but we have to take it. Now i'm a BLUE BELTER TEAKWONDO!!
And you don't know how to spell

OH MY LORD NOOOO so this is my karate training is gonna be💀😨
I had this training when I was 12 and 10 years later it's worth it
In some cases no.
Or you could just stretch regularly work your way up to this. That would actually be worth it. You would gain flexibility naturally and won't risk doing serious damage to muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, etc.
@@alisaishere we only had it later on when were more experienced thats why no one got hurt
I remember doing all this in pain but now I do it like a god

That is a really good way to learn how to kick high
I can split but my coach never did this and I am glad . I comes naturally after regular training.
Whaaaat!? Another English comment also I lOvE nOoDlEs
i heard that ballet artists used a streching machine. Пусть наш Бог хранит Украину. Миру мир! Cầu nguyện cho Ukraine và hòa bình.
I have no information of this . But being a Physical therapist I can add that if aim is to achieve muscle range than we can achieve this by daily basis stretching sessions it's not ok to achieve it at once
I still remember the Pain ...when I starts excrecise for 8pack abs....😌
That’s really bad cause there very young
When we learn gymnastics 🤸♂️ it really hurts
If that was me the moment I would be doing the splits forcefully I would regret every second but after that I would not regret one thing about it because it is over with and have gotten a improvement in my body
I’ve been doing Taekwondo for 1 years, and was able to do the split by myself gradually before I did Taekwondo, I just want to say, different Taekwondo gyms have different exercise, forcing a split is okay, as long as you’re not as old as 14-15 because, the kid is still developing, and they have more bones than older people, meaning they’re more flexible than older people, it’s torture, but trust me, it’s for the good, forcing an Adult is gonna make them injured more than the kids.
the first time I did a stretch it was terrible, but after a while it was really worth it, I kicked really high 😸
Actually this wasn't that hurt, cause after we stand up doing this we felt normal😂
So only hurts while you do it? And what exactly does it feel like bc Im going to have to go threw this😭
@@Kk-bi5im Try to do a split and tell someone to push you down.

That is forcibly split.
When im practicing taekwondo
My coach said...to perfect ur split... it'll take a days months years...not like that... i know how they feel because i've experienced that, and that split is the reason why i quit taekwondo...
I thought i can do it...but as day goes by... my body is in pain...i give up
Of course Your body are in Pain. It isn't like Your body can heal in one day and continue training like usual. I had seen Forcibly Split but what I see is only bit by bit, but It didn't really take Months or Years. Your Coach just too Kind if He didn't do the Forcibly Split to help Them Train better... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯¯\_༼ᴼل͜ᴼ༽_/¯
It actually hurts I’ve experienced this
Pain is gain - that sounds good but not always true .
What if it damages someone permanently?
