I understand "side entry" to mean there was a ruck I've looked up the definition of ruck, Law 15.2, "A ruck is formed when at least one player from each team are in contact, on their feet and over the ball which is on the ground". When Kildunne touched the ball, I see nobody there except the ball carrier and the tackler, both on the ground. I don't see a ruck. If not side entry to a ruck, what is the reason for the yellow card?
Despite the rules of the game being written in black and white, laws are always open to interpretation my friend, one ref would not see it that way and another would, many players have been sent off for no reason in my opinion but the ref sees it differently.
I agree with Patrick. As a ref, on reflection, I would consider it unduly harsh to send Ellie off for this - but the pressure is on the ref at that moment and she responded in the way she thought best.

Ellie was offside, arriving at the side.

But in saying it was cynical side entry and awarding a a yellow card, it appears that the referee applied the wrong law. If still on the pitch, Kildunne might have stopped Tessier's try.

Since the last world cup Canada have been the most improved nation by far. They really rattled the Roses in this game. The womens game has huge potential for growth in North America similar to football over the last decade or so. The mens despite all the exhibitions games by league and union teams will not knock NFL off their throne. The womens game wont face that challenge because womens gridiron is played by models in their underwear. They could take off big time

Try scoring seems to be quite a bit easier in the women's game as a rule of thumb and I feel that the teams seem to find it an unworthy waste of an attacking position. Add to that that very few ladies have the kicking power of the men's game. One converted try is worth more than two penalty goal kicks.

Never seen a player drop so many Balls as Kildonne has in this game . I think England would of been better without her on this one and she needs to strenghen her catch because She was poor in this. But she is a good player. Just not today. Loved the game and both sides worked for every inch. Was exiting.

But now they meet harder opposition and the pressures on, A certain few are failling. They need to upt there game , They are coming on, But it takes time and thats all of them, Not just England.
Yes, what happened to Kildunne, a shadow of her normal self. She appeared distracted, unfocused, failing to do the most basic things. Even in the few runs afforded her by the resilient Canadian defence, she didn’t appear to be going flat out. Has something/someone wrecked her confidence? Her performance in this match certainly could have done. Wishing her well in recovering to her sparkling best.
@@passingfancy4682 Watching the game, Canada seemed to be Targeting certain players effectivley and she was one. They never let her get in motion and i think it was killing off her confidence being knocked down so quick. I hope they notice this from Canada and make some changes in there game play with Canada in the future. Some ones been paying attention to Englands game play.
Was a great game. 5 mins at start of 1st half and 5 at end of 1st, 5 points to show, Canada second best. 2nd half, 20 mins at 15 v 14, yet just 7 -7 score to show for it? Pressure yes, metres probably, terretory, probably, but all these mean nothing if the score is not in your favour!. Sorry Canada, now you know why England are World Number 1! They never stopped! Ask yourself the same question! Did you?
