Shawn Kemp was awesome, one of the most entertaining NBA players ever which is what I really want to see, players playing hard but having fun and putting on a good show. Kemp climbed a ladder to reach that oop v Phoenix, his first qtr that game was unbelieveable, one of the best. NBA needs to release a clip of all his dunks in his career, thats a dvd i would do crazy shit to get my hands on.
I bought the Kemp VHS tape where all these clips are taken from somewhere in 1995/1996 in the Netherlands. And 2Unlimited was a Dutch musical duo running hot at the time. Nice nostalgic mix! I must have watched the tape at least 30 times. Used to try and emulate some of the dunks on a lower street hoop and still couldn't do most of them! The Reiiiiign maaan!
It was during the 93-94 season. Local TV news station KSTW TV 11 hosted this Sonics show after the 11:00 pm news. Rod Simons was the host. (RIP Rod Simons)
My all-time favourite player. Kemp is an unique piece of power and after all these years there still never has been a PF that can be compared to him and his brutal force. Thanks for that video with some dunks I've never seen before.
Even though he played for Cleveland (worse trade ever) and Portland,Shawn Kemp will and forever be a Seattle Super Sonic in my book. My all time favorite Seattle player. He would dunk the ball with such force and authority. And noone did the alley oop dunks better than the reign man🏀
You have created something amazing. Congratulations. I watch it everyday. Show Kemp is a special player, I grew up on it. Amazing music for the movie. Those were great times. Music and sports. I remember it with sentiment
the first time I see most of the dunks. love it. I just can't wait for the masterpiece :D it's funny though, I started listening to 2unlimited just about the same time I fell in love with Shawn Kemp and I have this track on an audio cassette back in the mid 90s. and I'm sure many times while listening to this I was also thinking about the "rain man"
Now this is a surprise. Thanks for posting this. I was the one who actually did this video when I was the Executive Producer of SST. I don't have many of the original shows, but I know I have some segments which I will try to post on my youtube channel. For those of you who can appreciate it, thus was mostly done on a cuts only machine with some help of some a/b roll editing. I had never even heard of Final Cut (and neither had anyone else!!!!).
I know everybody harping about his dunks but he wouldnt have made Nba finals with just that... His mid range was one of best I have seen. Also I think going with slow mo really didnt do good for Shawn Kemp showcase his power really cant be seen here...
Love this clip, rare stuff. The famous travel dunk from the front view, it looks like its not touching his hand til the last 2 steps, maybe he didnt travel? Cant wait for the grand finale your SK clips are the sickest, thanks. SK40!!!
Man all these dudes today that are barely over 6' getting over heads with the rim... makes these clips seem very low. Like what were so excited for... hoping we might see someone get 2" from the rim, maybe...
Kemp was always, and still is, my favourite player because he was the only one who could actually do the same dunks he did in NBA Jam in real life.

Is it a bird? Or a plane? No, this is Shawn Kemp! I loved watching him, he was like a warrior
He had that effortless athleticism. One of the most gifted specimens to ever play in the NBA.
