Your reaction is 😂. I think even by Jpop's standards, Higedan is out there on the experimental level. You highlighted the drumming that makes the song sound relentless, but it's also the vocal melody that's constantly slipping into minor scales so it creates this uneasy or unresolved feeling, and it just keeps going and going till the big ending
Most of their other songs are not as long and this relentless, but the minor scale or off scale or whatever you want to call it is a feature of this band. Check out Pretender, that's their most famous song, or like your chat said, Gravity, which the lead singer collaborated with OOR
