If you do lethal or non-lethal does not matter, as long as you are consistent. So since you do a bunch of stealth kills with the pistol I think you might get a multiplier of you also do kills instead of takedowns. However, the non-lethal is rewarded more as base. Check the post-mission result screen for details.
Also, check what loadout you have. There are ways to upgrade equipment and to get the other things you might want, such as gas grenades.

In the weapon selection wheel you can choose between lethal and non-lethal. It is worth playing non-lethal for higher rewards as there are less gadgets to play non-lethal style.

I know a lot of people like the original Sam fisher voice but honestly this guy was a lot better for me. Michael Ironside sounds like Optimus Prime at times and it kinda makes Sam sound like a cliche action hero
