    I love tall buildings, and admire them being built - but I would honestly feel a little "nerved out" living extremely high off of the ground like that. I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the crane operator and all of the iron workers that are up there constructing that - "absolute" nerves of steel.

    I like this building . I think its distinct . Sort of like a pseudo ultramodern brutalist architecture for 21st century ?!! Also kudos to whoever designed that tower crane goddamn its super strong considering it has risen to like 430 meters the amount of stress its steel took at the lower part seems staggering .

    I'm SO JEALOUS!!!!! I'm a born and Torontonian, if any of you are familiar with my city, you'll know 2 things. First, that you're the only city ahead of us in the number of skyscrapers in north America (yeh, we have even more then Chicago), and secondly, we also have the highest number of skyscraper proposals/approved/under construction in North America, but I doubt we'll ever catch up to you, no fair!! Then again, NYC is much older, and has been building skyscrapers almost a century longer then we have, but I'm amazed at the projects you have going up, especially the supertalls (aka anything over 300 metres tall). Believe it or not, despite it being relatively close, I've never been there, but will this summer, and I can't wait. I'm a bonafide skyscraper fanatic, and your city is a paradise for me! I say I'm jealous because of the system we have here in regards to building. It's a long, dragged out nightmare of paperwork, revisions, and height reductions, and it really pisses me off. I'd die too see all those supertalls you have , here, but our idiot city council hasn't a clue, and keep trying to keep everything under 300 metres, except for our landmark, the CN Tower. We currently have 6 proposals over 300 metres in the works, but I guarantee you the city council will force the developers to reduce the height for fear of casting shadows...WTF is that all about? It's a big city, we're suppose to build tall, if they want sun, move to the burbs where the belong, AND, even once approved, they're not allowed to being construction until at least 60% of the building is sold. It frustrates the hell out of me, think I'll move to your city instead, they at least aren't afraid to go tall!

      Toronto is nothing more than a wannabe New York. You don't have the charm of Paris, the influence of London, the history of Rome etc. There's more to cities than just skyscrapers; Toronto is a lifeless, depressing concrete prison.

    I have to say that I love this building, the minimalist simplicity contrasts the city at large. I think if the city were to simply produce homogenous buildings they would be as dull and uninteresting as the dozens of identical blocks of social housing projects of the 20th century.

      If you look at about 1:50 in the bottom left it looks like they've built a bridge from the building to the skyscraper. I'm guessing they did that a few times as they went up and used the construction elevators to bring up the tower crane operators near to the top.

    • @jackmilburn2001
      @jackmilburn2001 6 лет назад +2

      Nope they are there to secure the crane to the building as the crane gets bigger so it doesn’t fall in its own weight. But construction workers probably cross it as a shortcut.

    • @just_cade
      @just_cade 5 лет назад +1

      It has a tuned mass damper that takes up the top floors. It's pretty much a big weight, it weighs tons, and it pulls the building towards the ground which gives the structure more strength against wind and swaying.

    • @genesis209_gd
