System Engineer = traditional on-prem servers, storage, hypervisors and virtualization, Windows, Linux, rack-and-stack infrastructure, networking, hybrid-joined domains, ADDS, DNS, DHCP, M365, Azure lift-and-shift, MS licensing, SQL, basic Security concepts and compliance, end-point management, project management, asset management, customer service, mentor, senior support, print servers, learn every enterprise application, TLS/SSL certificates, IIS, weird Oracle stuff and legacy systems from decades ago... (Did I miss anything?) makes between $60k-$110k depending on where you are and how long you've been doing it.
