So she has some guts with presenting the vocals live in such a stripped-down form.
And eight years later Lana is completely stripped down except for a bit of piano! Her songwriting has matured so much. These were some of the best days, though. This tour was amazing

Its certainly different, but it seems she is still very talented. I have seen quite a few singers live, and sure she isn't up to Lady Gaga (best woman I ever heard) standard or Morten Harket (best male I ever heard) but she is certainly very good. I think some people expect her to sound like she does in the studio, but Im certain she uses a LOT of multi-layering (so singing your own backing vocals, its perfectly normal for all musicians to do that but she does a lot of it to produce a very unique full rich sound), which is very hard if not impossible to produce live (you can either use backing vocals, or be accused of miming).
She has some issues and mad anxiety from what I have seen. Her lives are very hit and miss. She has moments like her SNL debut where she falls flat on her face and you can hear nerves taking over. Then she have performances like this where her clear talent and style shine through. Her studio cuts are master reworks turning the raw emotion and darkness of her voice into a computer generated beast. The whole collaboration is the epitome of quality Pop music IMO. Creating a idol/dream thats actually worth admiring. Gaga is another good example of this as you mentioned but I think she is a more practiced and confident preformer. That said I am sure she sounds very different when she practices at home or in the studio with all the possible anxiety triggers gone.

Lana is such a sweet person. I was in the front row at this concert and kept waving her while she was on stage. She looked into the crowd a lot and when she came down to the fans she stopped in front of me to wave me back. So cute. ❤

In the audio for Summertime Sadness, I heard a little too much autotune, or at least more than I liked. Lana's voice is very unique and pretty, especially without autotune, so all you people saying she can't sing live, I beg to differ. She's amazing, she's just not a powerhouse vocalist or broadway singer, like others, that's all.
