What I like about this show (PBS) is that it doesn’t feel like it’s a concert, and there’s no borderline between the audience and Kris and the band. Looks more like if Kris were to pick his guitar and sing his songs in the circle of his buddies, and a keyboardist and a bassist joined him slowly, just to have a good time. 🙂
When I was a young man I liked to drink and pick guitar and the Pilgrim was one of my favorite songs. I had a buddy him and I would sing it in bars. Still picking but quit the drinking.
The best. Happy travels in your new journey beyond this life. I've always love you, Kris. Thank you for the beautiful lyrics and music that have brought me peace since 1973
I think about Sunday Morning Coming Down every Sunday morning I wake up, then I realize there will be a Sunday Morning I won't wake up, but that's all right with me.
There was a wonderful video of Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires performing this song live, with Kris in the near table. The video is nowhere to be found now
Yea. Loved that video. And Kris's reaction was great. Bummer it's gone now. I hope it gets uploaded again. I cant imagine performing one of Your heroes songs, in front of them. Jason, did it justice.
Kakav glas i opuštena pojava koja odaje samopouzdanje!! K. K je bio veliki da današnji pjevači nisu ni dostojni njegove sjenke!! Počivaj u miru veliki čovječe živiš vječno u svojim pjesmama i ulogama!!
One of the best songwriters☀️ ...What a grande fellow.🤩..He once said Irelands audiences🍀 were his fav and the best to play for....he stood up for Sinead🍀 O'Connor on stage ... even wrote a song about her and the ill treatment she endured for decades... now they are having the last laugh together as she was right about so many things she fought for, as was he ✅️...both way ahead of their time in standing up for the underprivileged and the wrongs of the world again and again...⭐️ In 1992, Kris Kristofferson comforted Sinéad O'Connor when she was booed off the stage at a Bob Dylan anniversary concert for tearing up popes picture which was aimed to bring awareness to the church and ill❌️ treatment of innocent children. Sinéad O'Connor, just 25 years old at the time, was introduced on stage by American singer-songwriter Kris Kristofferson. He later wrote this for her saying... May we all have her courage. Words to the song are:
"I'm singing this song for my sister Sinead
Concerning the god awful mess that she made
When she told them her truth just as hard as she could
Her message profoundly was misunderstood
There's humans entrusted with guarding our gold
And humans in charge of the saving of souls
And humans responded all over the world
Condemning that bald headed brave little girl
And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't
But so was Picasso and so were the saints
And she's never been partial to shackles or chains
She's too old for breaking and too young to tame
It's askin' for trouble to stick out your neck
In terms of a target a big silhouette
But some candles flicker and some candles fade
And some burn as true as my sister Sinead
And maybe she's crazy and maybe she ain't
But so was Picasso and so were the saints
And she's never been partial to shackles or chains
She's too old for breaking and too young to tame”

Always and forever
Swan had a #1 song of his own.
He's a walking contradiction
Partly true and partly fiction
Taking every wrong direction
On his lonely way back home.
