  • It's time to play the music and it's time to light the lights! With experience as a show host, a film director, an actor, a reporter and... Pretty much everything, this little frog from the swamp has the potential to have the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, Muppetational moveset in all of Lawl Nova!
    Cameos:
-Splitting Image Ronald Reagan from Throw Some Lawl Z, created by ‪@MiroFloydtan‬ and ‪@hammerman1758‬: Both are puppets from sketch shows (I'd say more but that'd spoil this very moveset).
-Wilkins from Super Crack Bros, created by ‪@RenegadeJade‬: Wilkins is another Jim Henson creation with a similar voice, who is also wrongly believed to be Kermit's predecessor.
-Spamton from Lawl Beatdown, created by ‪@ShadBad8‬: Both are puppets (I'd say more but that'd spoil this very moveset).

First Bart Simpson now Kermit- you really have nailed the ability to make movesets for characters with huge legacies and source lists AND make sure it’s a great representation of the character! I love the way Kermit plays and the way his stage control moves all work together, it’s so well executed! I’m also really appreciating the way he’s both animated and the way he moves, it perfectly fits the hensen style!
And since it’s done and before I edit my comment on the second set, I can now say the ARG for Kermit was nothing short of brilliance- I’m glad we found him :)

I think this is my new personal favorite Lawl Nova moveset!
Kermit was one of the characters in the roster I was looking to forward to the most, and this moveset delivered on something spectacular for the occasion (much like The Muppet Show itself)!
First, I like the wide variety of Muppet content represented here, from The Muppet Show itself to the Muppet movies, Kermit's appearances on Sesame Street, and even more obscure Muppet media like Muppets Tonight and the early specials (ex: The Frog Prince, Hey Cinderella, etc.), it helps to not only make Kermit's set have more variety but is also a great tribute to Jim Henson's legacy in general.
The moves chosen were great, I like how Kermit's role as the host of The Muppet Show were implemented into things like the Neutral B where he directs other frogs to jump at opponents. I also like how the Down B used the phone gag from some of the episodes by having it have different effects on the opponent unlucky enough to pick it up. The Side B and Up B were also cool, in that they go more towards Kermit's performing side of things well, and also help with the stage control aspect of his playstyle by helping him maintain his distance but also have his fellow frogs go closer to opponents if they're near the trapeze. The Final Smash put a big smile on my face, especially since Frogzilla is an underrated moment from an underrated Muppets show (Muppets Tonight), and it's nice seeing Godzilla representation in Lawl in some way.
Of course, the taunts and victories were all amazing (Kermit's arm flailing while cheering is a perfect victory option for him), and I like some of the details on the animations like having Kermit come out of the "O" in the Muppet Show logo for his entrance, and having his alts based on things like his Sesame Street news reporter outfit and Muppet Treasure Island. Plus, having the famous bike scene from The Muppet Movie as a dash attack is amazing.
I also liked seeing Spitting Image Ronald Reagan in the moveset, especially since there really was a Sesame Street parody in a Spitting Image episode complete with one of the parodied politicians as Kermit.
Overall, this one's the best Lawl Nova moveset yet, and I'm looking forward to seeing how things go in the future!

At long last, we finally get our first Muppet character. And who better than the most iconic one of them all?
As a long time fan of The Muppets and other Jim Henson works, Kermit is a character I've been REALLY looking forward to seeing, and you've really done him justice. Him being a stage control character who needs to keep his foes from a distance makes so much sense. The special moves coming from a lot of the very long material he has, while still being primarily based on The Muppet Show, are are well well executed, with Down B being my favorite, as well as having his fellow frogs effect his other specials. And don't get me started on that hilarious intro here. Overall, an awesome moveset for a character thats been long overdue, and a continuing promise of Nova's legacy and quality.
And since some of you are all curious, I did find out that clue, My guess is that the person who knows is either Jade or Irene, giving their referred to as a dream girl. Still left in wondrous excitement as to who that mysterious second moveset could be.
Best luck on making Arzette (and Isabel too, even though I'm not that invested in Paranatural).

Congratulations, this is my first Muppets media ever and now I'm into a deep froggit-hole looking for clues. At first I had a hard time following the moveset due to the chaotic nature of the exploding frogs and the trapeze, also having to vertically ping-pong my eyes to scan text and animation, but the Playstyle Origin really made all of it clear.

The muppets is a series going on for so long with different movies and series so picking definite source for Kermit or any character would sound impossible ur you nailed it well to the character
Kermit being the director and picking moves from the original series based on a big stage play was a nice choice
I do like moves have multi-use or different inputs with the neutral and down to emulate the whacky sense of the muppet show, especially the explosions
Fav move was the telephone for along multiple set up potential and physical moving it around in muppet prop way, also the way he yells ‘TELEPHONE’ is funny lol
Also the fs grabbing sakurai last second thinking he could escape lol
Good set, also nova lore getting creepy

AWW YEAH KERMIT IS IN LAWL
It's super neat to see a Stage Control character who isn't a villain, and Kermit fits that play style to a T. The synergy Neutral Special has with other moves is really fun to see, and special itself is very fun too, even if it gives me bad memories of Kermit's Swamp Years (/j)
I absolutely adore that Up Special, not only is it super varied, it's also really funny. And I love wide variety of attacks for Down Special. Kermit's moveset as a whole is really funny but it's also really great? Like, this is one of the best stage control sets I've seen in Lawl.
Also, I have to say that combo in the Playstyle section is REALLY well animated. Gosh, makes me wish for a new Classic Mode in the future.
Overall, it's an amazing moveset, but...that ending makes it seem like things aren't quite finished, and that's where my comment continues.

Wow, this moveset was incredibly fun to watch because of how crazy it is, I finally understand why so many people wanted to see Kermit's moveset so badly
Also it was nice to see a cameo of my favorite coffee addict "frog" (I don't know if he's really a frog)
Also (again), I never expected to see that a lawl decided to make an ARG, I know I'm late to him but as soon as I can I will try to decipher it

Long time Muppet fan here, I'll admit I wasn't exactly sure how you were going to tackle a Kermit moveset since his character is such a broad everyman type but I think you did a really good job picking the specific moments that reflect his trademarks (directing, being flung through the air, etc). It'd be easy to get lost in 70 years worth of stuff to pick from but I think you did a really good job! I appreciate the usage of his Sesame Street material (I was hoping for a reporter Kermit outfit so I was glad to see it) and I'm happy that something as obscure as The Frog Prince was included in here. I also gotta shoutout the sprite work, I know it couldn't have been too easy for a character that's normally only shown from the waist up. Loved the easter egg at the end- been watching since around the first or second moveset and it's been a pleasure seeing you meaningfully improve and find new twists on this formula so well over the years. Great job!!

This moveset's a stroke of genius. For the longest time, i was wondering which side of Kermit could you cover for a fighting game, because...well, this is the Muppets we're talking about, there's so much to take from the Jim Henson era alone.
But i believe you nailed it right on the money by taking inspiration from the Muppet Show, and him trying his damndest to try and keep the chaos in check being the core of his gameplay is another bullseye in Nova's book. As such, this is an ingeniously fun moveset to play as, and Kermit seems like the kind of character that's hard to master with satisfying results for eventual veterans.
I admit i came a bit too late for the riddle, but i went ahead and pieced the clues together...

I wasn't expecting this moveset to come so soon after Hilda, so this was a pleasant surprise. You represented Kermit pretty well, with the way he commands his frogs and how they interact with his other tools, you really made it feel like Kermit is performing a show and keeping it under his control more than he is fighting. Representing a character with decades of legacy does not seem like an easy task but you did it quite well. Also want to give special praise for how well you portrayed his personality in his victory options and to the taunts that you posted yesterday, those seem like they took some sweat time to make but they came out great

Alright Lawlers, it is time for the mystery box!
    First clue... is something green.
_What?_ *No.* It's not Johnstein, you piece of shit memer.
From Empty Slots and various reveals, to Joel's moveset intro, and eventually Classic Mode of Joey Mama himself (again). We've been waiting for the puppet Jim Henson for so long, and it's safe to say that you delivered with this Muppet without the need for (too much) memes, side cast, and even side materials. Especially when you focused on the main segments that people loved about the series in the first place.
Guest stars, stunts, dancing, singing and even practical jokes, this moveset had it all! While not exactly impressive to outsider who never seen the show, but it stays true to Kermit's most consistent trait and role as a showman, encouraging him to stay on _stage_ and his own _set._
    (Wocka Wocka)
Like, there's a lot playstyle segments that made things from character's source literal, but Nova has to be one of the best at doing so through a balance of Smash/Lawl in-jokes and respect for the character. Which isn't easy for someone with as big of a source as him, making it more than impressive!
But do promise that we'll be getting a large list of songs for *Muppet Theater* in Stage Volume 4, will ya?

  • @JosiahTheStickGuy

Like many others, Kermit was such an exciting character to anticipate to get his moveset, since he’s in the boat of having a ton of material due to being in a long ongoing series, but unlike someone like SpongeBob, he doesn’t have super defined traits that would make for some easy Special move choices, so I was very interested to see how you’d pull this off and I think it went very well!
I haven’t seen a lot but all sorts of Muppets media and I’m ultimately very impressed with how Kermit turned out here. The Neutral Special looks very fun to use and experiment with, and it’s combinations with the other specials makes it even more versatile in all aspects, The Side and Up Specials movement gimmicks are very well executed and placed in the playstyle, and the Down Special wraps everything together very well with a diverse trap that has many options for both Kermit and opponents to keep in mind. The Final Smash is a simple but effective way to corner enemies and even surprise them at the end. Something I particular enjoyed throughout the set is the combination of both things that fit Kermit and are reoccurring in some way in the Muppets franchise, (like with the Telephone usages in other instances for the Down Special inspiration clip for example) which is a really clever way to handle Kermit’s insane amount of source material.
The other segments are all great watches as usual, and the picks for all the taunts and victories was well chosen. Overall I really enjoyed this set! Great work! (Also I can only imagine how difficult spriting him was and I commend you for it)
(Also that outro had me very interested…. If Nova is getting lore based on this note then I’m more than all for it!)

This was a very nice, goofy moveset for the very nice, goofy frog, but I'm still not going through the entire Muppets catalog. Maybe slowly overtime, but it won't be in a huge burst like I did with Pseudoregalia pffffft.
Honestly I was gonna leave it at that but I think you and this moveset deserve a little more. For a character with such an overwhelmingly large source to work with. Well okay not so much large but rather one that tends to hop all over the place. I'd imagine it'd be easy to become stressed and worried you wouldn't fully represent the green with it guy. But it was a very smart call on your end to think about who Kermit really is. He's a showman who's trying to keep the show together and provide a fun time. And whether it be directing his fellow frogs or setting up props for some lighthearted antics he does his job pretty darn well here. As for his Final Smash its always swell to meet a fellow enthusiast for classic cinema.
Kermit's moveset was an absolute treat Skap. Serving as a terrific tribute to the golden age of Muppets, as well as helping cap off this era of Nova. I'd say more but I think I've come down with something. A fever? A cold? Well whatever it is it's providing a real Anura in my Pharynx

I do admire Kermit’s skill as a director being his playstyle. From introducing his co-stars to his athleticism. He really does feel like his own character instead of being another chaotic muppet from Jim Henson’s creation. Also I do very like the final smash it does give it some charm to the parodies the Muppets recreated. I do question if his physical movements are slow and light, but having one of the best Jumps in the roster? I can see him move similarly to another awesome Green man with great jump height, but slow and floaty. 🐸

All together now, people of the world! YAAAAAAAAAY!
The intro was hilarious. It makes me wonder if Joel is aware that Kermit is his dad but Kernit doesn't know that Joel is his son in the Nova Cinematic Universe. Does that mean that Kermit!Bob Cratchet's kids from The Muppets Christmas Carol are Joel's siblings and Miss Piggy is his mother? 😛
But in all seriousness, the moveset. Although it wasn't based on it, the Neutral B reminded me of Kermit's Swamp Years, which I only know through VHS trailers. I don't believe I ever actually watched The Muppets Show though, I've only ever seen most of the movies. So I didn't really recognise most of the moves. The Final Smash was hilarious though, although I admit that I was expecting Animal's kaiju form from the movie to show up.
And I'm so glad at least one of his memes were referenced, as well as his famous "YAAAY".
The outro seems interesting though. New character?

Imagine Constantine being an echo for Kermit

    • @FilmsOliver
      @FilmsOliver 18 дней назад

I would think so too, but I’m not sure if this moveset would translate well with Constantine. The only thing I could think of are for one instead of the Amphibian Co-Stars, he sends out the babies from Most Wanted, and his Up Special could maybe be themed around the "I'll Get you What You Want" scene.
However, even if Most Wanted doesn’t provide easy to find equivalents to Kermit’s moveset, you could say that Constantine’s playstyle is him trying to be like Kermit, however with heavy emphasis on the “trying” part since show business isn’t his bread and butter since under the facade he’s a criminal mastermind. Still, I feel like for this case if he were to make it into a Lawl, he’d probably have to have a unique moveset or be a semi-clone instead of a full on echo.
However, I would like to share that a couple hypothetical concepts
Since the only distinctions Constantine has compared to Kermit are his mole and slightly different collar, he’d probably either have to have a different idle stance or have his black cloak on by default
His entrance, like Kermit, should be him appearing out of the “O”, only for him to suddenly get stage fright and faint out of it
And lastly, one of his taunts HAS to be him doing his Kermit impression (maybe with the possibility of him saying different things)
