I spent 30 mins trying to understand how MAC Addresses and IP address were similar but different, this video helped me understand in 3 mins. Super awesome. Keep up the great work. 👍
This video made my day. I have just started the CCNA course, going through the ARP topic. One thing that was hitting my mind is "In a Network, IP address is enough to identify the device then why MAC is required?".After going through this video I'm able to understand clearly. Thank you, guys!!
MAC address is not relevant only to the LAN. It is used and constantly updated by routers when frames are hopped from one router to another in the Internet.
This video helped so much! Thank you guys. I liked and subscribed. Can you guys do a video explaining subnetting and the different classes of IP addresses and what and why they're used for?
Just to add, the used MAC address in networks can be changed through some software programs, it will do temporary change when lets say connecting to any WiFi network, but it wont permently change the original MAC address.
one thing I didnt understand is when host A wants to communicate to host B (both in same n/w) , a broadcast msg is send by A asking mac address of the host (Arp packet containing IP of B). So if they(A & B) can communicate once using ip address why cant they always use ip address to talk.
This was so much easier to listen to then other videos I've watched while studying for my CCNA.
Glad it was helpful! Did you see our CCNA Quiz video yet? ruclips.net/video/4gFjb-FnDA0/видео.html
my GOSH me too but we change NIC mac address using machanger )
Finally my Computer Networks subject started making sense...
Hope we helped!

This channel is underrated. It deserves more recognition
😊
You forgot to explain whats the difference between a local IP address(Which is also used in LAN) and a MAC address? Not all IP addresses r global.
You go ahead with the explanation and with an example please
One of the most useful things I've ever seen about IP address and MAC address.
*Thank you*

Thanks for watching! That's a great idea, we will definitely consider more on IP addresses.
@1:42 The IPv6 address should be hexadecimal digits. You are using letters like L, K, M, N which don't make sense.
If MAC Addresses are used within networks and IP's are global, then why do we need Private IP's?
Just to add, the used MAC address in networks can be changed through some software programs, it will do temporary change when lets say connecting to any WiFi network, but it wont permently change the original MAC address.
😯is it?
00:55 Difference between IP & MAC Addresses
the ipv6 address at 1:41 was invalid
Straight to the point, thanks.
That's our goal! Thanks for watching.
You can change the MAC address btw. I don't know why you are saying you cannot, its one cmd/terminal command...
